NU Link: http://www.novelupdates.com/series/rebirth-noble-woman-poisonous-concubine/ Any spoiled about mc and story. This story is about rebirth or second chance.
Sound interesting. From the blurb, ML doesn't seem to be her husband, so I'm not sure how that's going to work.
Spoilers! Spoilers please~ Sounds interesting. I want some spoilers before I give a try~ How did MC and ML meet? Who is ML? Like details. And what happened in the MC’s first life?
MC is reborn into her younger self just in time to avoid the incident which triggered her tragic life in the previous birth. Last time, she was framed as impure by her Shu sister who wanted to marry her fiance (ex husband). This time she manages to avoid being framed and runs into the ML. ML is called Zhao Zun and he is initially a rich merchant. MC had heard of him as a very tricky and ruthless person in her last life and wants to avoid him. He helps her avoid being framed but her reputation is damaged due to rumors spread by her stepmother and shu sister as well as her fiance. Shu sister is pregnant with fiance's child and therefore desperate to end MC's engagement so she can take it over.
Oh now that makes sense. But if her older sis is a shu born then is Xiao Wan from the legitimate wife? Cuz she seems to be the 9th miss of her household.
Yes, she is from the legitimate wife. Her mother was her father's true love and died when she was young. There are 2 shu sisters from a concubine (Fan) who her father took in to have children for her mother. MC's mother was poisoned on the day of her wedding to MC's father and was told that giving birth would kill her. However, because MC's mom really wanted children, the father took in a concubine and the children that the concubine gave birth to were to be brought up by MC's mom. However, MC's mom still wanted biological children even more after seeing the concubine's children. So, the MC's father gave her her wish. She seemed to get better during childbirth but shortly after, she passed away peacefully. In her previous life, MC was fooled by Fan into believing that she cared for Xiao Wan like a real daughter. So, she begged her grandmother and father to make Fan a legitimate wife. Later, Fan and her 2 daughters tricked her into becoming distant from her father and grandmother and led to her tragedy.
MC and ML meet when MC is running away from the people that her shu sister had sent to frame her. MC literally rolls down a cliff in a ball of snow and falls at the ML's feet ML rescues MC, takes her home and nurses her back to health. ML is called Zhao Zun. Initially, he is a rich merchant but he soon becomes a powerful official. The ML also has a secret behind his birth which is revealed quite late in the story. ML was one of a pair of twins born to the queen of a neighbouring kingdom. Because it was the custom to kill twins to prevent succession troubles, the queen smuggled him out of the palace and had him adopted by her maiden family. In the MC's first life, she was plotted against by her shu sister and framed that she had lost her innocence. She fell and knocked her head at a temple. After she returned home, a peasant came to the door with her cloak claiming to have had illicit contact with MC. Because of this, her fiance, the third prince, wanted to break the engagement. The shu sister was pregnant with the 3rd prince's child and the prince wanted to marry her as his main wife. However, the MC insisted on marrying the 3rd prince despite all advice from her grandmother and father. Finally, because of the bad reputation, she was married to the 3rd prince as a concubine and the shu sister was married as the main wife. The 3rd prince only wanted to marry her for her father's power. MC's father is a powerful official who excels in both civil and military pursuits. Later, she was tortured by the shu sister, fed infertility drugs and many bad things happened to her family ending with the MC's death.
@kiti So do they find out about the shu sister's pregnancy or does she somehow get away with it? If they find out what happens to her?
In the rebirth timeline, the shu sister's pregnancy gets made public. After the MC returns home, she gives the shu sister something that will cause pain for pregnant women. Shu sister collapses in front of the MC's grandmother and MC convinces the grandmother to call a doctor. While the doctor is diagnosing the sister, the 3rd prince shows up to try and rescue her. He announces that he wants to end the engagement with MC and marry the shu sister. The grandmother and father are angered by this and later once the pregnancy is confirmed, they punish the shu sister by telling her she will have no more ties with the family after marriage.
That's a damn good point. How the hell was the prince and the bitchy sister not caught in their affair? How was the revenge on these bozos?
Wait so does the prince actually love the shu sister? If they punish her by saying she would have no ties to the Family after marriage, would the prince then not find a use for her anymore since he wanted the MC's father's power?
Essentially, the shu sister was married to the prince as a concubine and not as a main wife. She had to abort her child so that she wouldn't be obviously pregnant while getting married. She was not given much dowry and she was married out of a different house than her father's house. Since the prince was supposed to marry MC to cement MC's father's support, this makes the sister's status precarious because it clearly shows that her father won't support her after marriage. Later, the MC's father got the 3rd prince exiled far away to a tough location. He left the shu sister behind. The shu sister managed to piss off her MIL who was the emperor's Shu Fei and she was locked into a small courtyard and left in isolation to the neglect of the servants and everyone else.
Yeah, the prince actually has feelings for the shu sister. However, he gets a little disgusted with some of her behaviour before the marriage. On the wedding night, he actually ends up spending it with another concubine which makes her very angry. When he is later exiled, he offers her the option to give up her title and come with him or to stay alone in the capital and keep her title. She chooses to stay in the capital. He realises that she is not who he thought her to be and thinks about how the MC was devoted to him.
Also, the 3rd prince and the eldest prince share a mother, Shu Fei. The eldest prince and Shu Fei were pushing the 3rd prince to marry MC because she was the favourite granddaughter as well as being the only legitimate daughter and the MC's father was very filial. He would do whatever his mother told him and she would always pamper MC. MC was the only one who could therefore get benefits out of her father. The other sisters didn't have that relationship with the grandmother and were therefore never favoured. The 3rd prince himself was in love with the shu sister but his mother and brother wanted him to marry MC so that they could leverage her father's power to get the eldest prince the throne.
Well, I can hate him for making use of someone's feelings, but I can't hate him for actually loving someone wrong.
