I'm able to achieve 3800mhz CL16 on a msi-z390m-mortar. which is a Daisy-chained board 8GB*4. should be able to go upto 4000+ if 16GB 8GB*2. I'll write the detail post later. @runsing interested?
I'm running 32gb CL14 3800mhz Trident Z Neo. RGB of course, since everyone knows RGB overclocks even the air inside the PC through pretty light witchcraft.
Wow, a good binned B-Die can really reduce the timers. Mine should be able to go over all the way to 4800mhz+ if I have a itx boards. Or I have a better pcb motherboard. Mortar is really bad at high clocks, 4 layer pcb and daisy chained for 4 stick of ram. It's quite good to be even 3800 cl 16.
interested, sure. but i'm also almost sure i won't be doing it, even if the rams were to rain from the sky. unless, it also rains processors, motherboards and other things. i only do average joe overclock these days.
Neos can easily reach 4000mhz with tighter configs but I didn't want to go through the trouble so I easy mode put it at 3800.
True, but even with Cl16 I think the Neos are a better option if you're running Ryzen. https://www.amazon.com/G-Skill-Trid...72RFG6KJ7T8&psc=1&refRID=X8YVWGC6F72RFG6KJ7T8
But I'm on intel so I'll go for highest mhz, micron currently can go over 4600 cl 17 if not for my mother board and 2dpc configs. And 16 Gb 2 sides ram is harder to oc compare to 2 dpc.
True indeed mate. I went more or less all out for my new Ryzen machine, though didn't want to wait for the 3950 so I went with the 3900 and I'm pretty happy. All hail RGB goodness. And fuck intel stock coolers, the Wraith that that came with my ryzen is not only RGB but it's damn good since I don't run water-cooling.
Okay, I'm tired of starting a new threads. Basically my board (z390m mortar) is daisy chained. It can reach 3800mhz on 4 ram stick, and it can reach 4400mhz on 2 sticks. I tried pumping voltage, I updated my bios, I put my CPU in stock, pushing IMC voltage to 1.46 (way over the Intel safety range) and it can't reach 4500mhz with really lose timer at CL22. sadly MSI didn't lie on their product page... I expect nothing from a 120 dollars board. The reason IMC is so high because I have a shitty chip in the previous post. so, how the Micron E die? It's a monster like the B-die in high clocks but sucks when come to timers secondary and thirdary. 4400mhz CL17 24 24 48 700. I tried dropping it by further, at 4400mhz CL17 23 23 46 650 but the result is horrible in the picture. My Motherboard is probably Pulling back my RAM sticks. Really, I'm not even surprise if it can go up to 4800Mhz or 5000mhz.
