Well, it's all written in the novel. They can't kill the queen recklessly. Especially when the queen is stronger sorcery than the Kurkans had. Also, Leah's contradictory thought is caused by the brainwashed that the queen did for a long time. She can't think right about the country. So I think that's why Leah don't want to give up and she remembered the people of Estia that ruled by a cruel queen, she can't imagine her people's suffering. And I don't how to answer your last question, well, maybe because she's with the king of Kurkan, who dare to fight with him even the queen and Blair, I think the queen knows that Leah often meet the king of Kurkan, but she's not aware that he can diminish the brainwashed spell because she thought that she's the strongest.
