Official Novel Raws: Naver Author: 글 장퀸 (The same author who wrote, "Call Me the Devil") Artist: begoffda Year: 2022 Genre: Romance, Fantasy, Mystery Status: 129 Chapters Description: “The Empress was supposed to be my woman.” The Scarecrow Empress, Diane, lived as the last member of the bloodline of a rebellious family. In front of her, an unidentified man wearing an iron mask appeared. “That’s too bad. I thought I was the first one to see the face of Prince Gotha, which everyone wanted to see.” “Are you saying that you missed me?” The Prince was as relentless as someone who took pleasure in making fun of her. “Then I can take it off right away.” “No! I didn’t mean it like that!” As she stopped him from trying to take off his mask, the Prince pulled her towards him. The wind completely loosened the front of the tightly-tucked gown, and the fronts of the two people met, touching one another through a see-through chemise. The prince’s voice echoed low inside the iron mask. “Right now, I’m holding it in, Your Majesty the Empress.” The moment the Prince’s identity was revealed outside the iron mask, Diane had already become a northern woman.

Based from the prologue he married Diane because he thinks that Diane killed Catherine (his lover and his wife-to-be) during their wedding. The emperor and Diane were in love in the past before he decided to marry someone else. Spoiler The novel also has imprinting. During the wedding, this was supposed to be part of the ritual to bind two people. But this procedure was not complete due to Catherine being poisoned and additionally got hit by an arrow in the heart. The emperor wanted to take revenge on Diane and he also killed her family members one by one.
That's what I think so too he didn't even properly investigate his lover's death but immediately concluded that Diane and her family instigated the assassination since they were there (like dude it's a public event anyone can be a suspect) and he probably thinks that Diane was "bitter" that he chose someone else over her. I actually don't think that Diane had to do with it (unless there's going to be a plot twist of some sort). But then again, he went as far as killing her family. WTF. In the prologue, it wasn't even stated that the emperor ordered an investigation. It was like out of a whim that he deduced who the "real" culrpits are. The same group who is currently working on this novel is handling that novel too.
Oh is it another case of "I am an emperor but I still lack the resources to conduct a proper investigation and would blame the person without any evidence?"
And one more: " I am an emperor but sadly I have lost my brain cells and now in my country's history, I will be known as the dumbest of all" lol. I have already guessed this novel's plot: Emperor kills fl's family and also treats her like shit Fl's marital lig=fe will be full of abuse even from the servants. But there may be one servant who pities her and helps her. Ml, a northern duke, also hates the imperial family and then starts to love fl by maybe pitying her. Then fl gradually starts to fall in love and the trash emperor misses fl and now realizes he loves her and tries to bring back fl by starting a civil war because he is dumb enough to fight ml's very cold yet strong territory. They fight a war and the ml and fl win and overthrow the trash. And then they get coronated and then get married and in side story there are kids.
Bro I read the comments that said Emperor and his lover are trash and shameless. So- maybe he cheated on Diane with his lover too, also, most probably, Catherine (the lover) isn't dead and was pregnant too.
Yeah, maybe it was all an excuse to terminate her family as the Emperor felt threatened by their existence? Or it can be Catherine had some personal idiotic grudges with her so she orchestrated it all to throw her to the lowest ebb. Plus how silly it is, just because of a woman, whose death wasn't even investigated properly - as the comments suggest, he brutally murdered an entire family!!!? My God! What will happen to a country with an Emperor like this!
⛺ here for spoiler. And wow why am i not surprise, with another man in the manhwa that lack of common sense and logic
