    - Lacey escapes Surev by disguising herself as Nefer and riding her teru (which is a horse)
    - She misses having Nell by her side but is still maintaining a faint mana connection with her - just enough so she can avoid summoning Nell to her
    - She disguises herself as a commoner and decides to cut her hair because only rich people can afford to maintain long hair - she hesitates to cut it thinking of Halid and then goes through with it, determined to be free

    - The guests at Surev are split over whether or not Halid is telling the truth about the savior and Nerys
    - The head priest of Fire, Shiras is skeptical but then the Empress enters and argues Halid's position is in the interest of protecting the Imperial heir
    - Apparently in the past, Prince Kerus, the Governer of Ignat (Igna's father) abandoned a command post for his pregnant wife and has carried the stigma ever since for abandoning Irinna in a time of need. Prince Kerus was the brother of Rametis, and Rametis's children have disliked him ever since because Rametis had to step in due to his failure (IDK if this is relevant, to politics/ the future maybe?)
    - Shiras is confused about the Empress's backing of Halid because Halid treats the Empress rudely and indifferently (Also wondering what's up with Halid and his mom? Halid seems to care little for most of his family members including Nefer.)
    - Nefer is avoiding Halid, because she was genuinely frightened by how angry he seemed and how little he seems to care about harming his family members
    - Nefer sees Sanahan walking around at night and finds it a bit strange/surprising because Halid's magic knocked Sanahan and Lanahan up a bit (genuinely have no idea what's up with this yet)

    - Simon is checking on Marcera in the dungeon
    - He connects the dots that the same person responsible for Marcera is probably responsible for Shakira's miscarriage
    - He also feels a lot of regret about Marcera, because he also grew up with Ashera and Ashera was his first love
    - Simon remembers that Ashera gave him his glasses and how she died, he regrets that he let something happen to Marcera and didn't pay enough attention (this is so sad you guys...)
    - and then SIMON gets his neck slashed and recognizes the person responsible (WHO IS IT!!!!???). He realizes they are possessed by the parasitic magic and then he sees another person (??) who is controlling the possessed person
    - Simon is holding the glasses that Ashera gave him while bleeding out and his teru is trying to staunch the bleeding. Simon is left bleeding out on the ground. (I AM NOT OKAY WITH THIS YOU GUYS)
    - The parasitic magician/villain shows up in front of Marcera's cell and she smiles and calls him "master"
    - The chapter ends with the line
"Hours after that, dawn without dawn. A body was found in an underground waterway in Sureb Castle."
DID SIMON JUST DIE??? (Please be a fake out. I am too invested in this character) :blob_teary:
Still have no idea what happened to Simon :(

    - Opens with Igna and Shrad at Ignat, Igna is discussing a new trade ship she is organizing to the magic-less continent and the trouble she is having recruiting people to get on it since it's risky and trade between the two countries isn't currently common.
    - Igna thinks about how Shrad has changed in the past two years, since Halid burned his servant in front of him at the wedding and no longer has the enthusiastic desire to be recognized by Halid
    - She also wonders why Shrad has been sent to Ignat while the other prominent Imperial family members are at the front of the war Halid is leading
    - Igna sees a group of priests walking past and sees one with a hint of amethyst eyes (Lacey???)

    - A group of priests in Ignat are imprinting runes on jewels and are gossiping about a strange priest with a hunched back, bedraggled appearance and a stutter (again Lacey in disguise I assume?)

    Volume 5 Chapter 09 (1) - Part 3-6
Well that's a twist, and in retrospect it makes a lot of sense! :hmm:
I'm really liking how this story is playing with the ideas of fate and human choice.
First of all, i just realized that this chapter is set a month or two after the events of Lacey fleeing the castle so things have happened in the meantime.

    - Lacey is disguised as an acolyte named Pi. Using her magic appearance altering earring she made it appear like there are large burn scars covering her face
    - She disguised herself that way so she can get on the ship Igna is sending to Weldon in a few days since priests can volunteer for the voyage
    - Lacey had to fake having weak powers in order to get in as a priest and avoid tipping anyone off about her strong magic
    - In her room at the temple she takes off her disguise and confronts a small boy asking why he is following her.
    - Lacey noticed that 'Lili/Liri' has been following her from Surev disguised as various people and correctly identifies that Liri is a transcendent (specifically the Witch of the North who was speaking to Aegir in her vision)
    - Lacey asks what Liri wants from her and assumes she led Lacey to confronting the mutants and the curse and asks what more she wants with her
    - Liri apologizes for the deception and says she was only watching her. Lacey believes Liri is trying to push her towards her fate and use her to maintain the balance of the world but then Liri says that it doesn't matter whether Lacey leaves the country, because Lacey has already done what she needed to do, "Because of you, the savior finally decided to save."
    - And here's the twist: And Lacey realizes that she isn't the savior, Halid is. (more on this is explained in a bit, but first)

    - Lanahan has arrived in Ignat with Lacey's 3 priestesses and there are some big pieces of information dropped on us
    - Simon is alive (thank the lord) and Marcera was the one whose body was found. But Simon is still currently in a coma/unconscious from his severe injuries (so things are still quite dire)
    - And shockingly Sanahan is the prime suspect for the attack on Simon - meaning he probably got possessed (Damn it I liked Sanahan as well :blob_catflip: :blobsad:) and since the primary witnesses are dead or unconscious there is no way to prove his innocence and Lanahan is trying to track him down
    - Lanahan, pure soul she is, was quite distressed from Lacey disappearing and all of this stuff going down in Halid's inner circle and is upset that Lacey never trusted her properly
    - Lanahan senses Lacey's mana in a group of priests and grabs her clothing while the priest (Lacey) tries to shake her off

    - The scene shifts back to Liri and Lacey realizing that Halid is the actual Savior
    - Lacey is thrown off balance by this because she believed that she was being forcefully tied to Irinna and was condemned to save it with her life, but realizes that the grand design all along was to help Halid find the motivation save Irinna. His love for her and desire to protect her is what made him willing to fulfil the savior role.
    - Lacey is shocked to realized that Halid focused on breaking the curse rather than pursuing her because he views it as a way to keep her alive and protect the world she lives in
    - Liri says she communicated with Halid in the past and told him that he needed Lacey to break the curse, but that was a half truth.
    - Halid is capable of breaking the curse because he was born with three forms of elemental magic : earth, wind and fire.
    - Liri explains that this makes Halid uniquely suited because he has the powers of the three kings who incited the curse in the first place. The original curse was placed on the bloodlines of earth, wind and fire, but not water
    - Water mages like Rametis were never actually capable of fully breaking the curse in the first place because the royal bloodline of water was never responsible for the initial curse and thus a water mage is incapable of fully ending it, only suppressing it. Which is why Rametis failed in the end, and Lacey would also fail if she tried.
    - Halid needed Lacey because her immense water magic helped stabilize him. Having three elemental magics makes his magic highly unstable and he needs to keep 2/3rds of it sealed away at all times to even function. Exchanging mana with Lacey balances his unstable powers and lets him use them in their full scope. It also helps him feel at peace since his conflicting magics are constantly tearing him apart.
    - Liri further explains that Halid never wanted to just use her and that he would refuse to bring her to help him save the world if it meant that she would suffer for it. He made Liri vow as a transcendent to ensure that Lacey stayed safe and was happy in exchange for him going through with it, which is why Liri is following her around - to fulfil her vow to Halid.
    - Lacey is really shaken by these revelations and finally understands why Halid wanted Lacey to stay ignorant of what was happening. She's still a bit angry at him for it and is confused about how to feel. And while Liri seems to be implying that the sequence of events was all Lacey's decision, Lacey still feels like she was being pulled around by forces out of her control.
    - She is also reeling from the realization at the lengths Halid has gone to try to ensure her happiness, even though it jeopardizes his own life and the fate of Irinna as a whole
    - She's still rationalizing that this changes nothing and she should still leave Irinna and find her freedom.
    - She heads outside and runs into Lanahan, who recognizes her and grabs her priest robe, but Lacey plays it off in her role as the timid priest "Pi", convincingly enough to make Lanahan to let her go
I am genuinely in suspense to see what happens next. I feel like we all know what choice Lacey is going to make in the end but I am genuinely enjoying the angst and character conflict Lacey is going through on the way.

    - Lacey escapes Lanahan and is wondering why she is here and if she might be after Lacey
    - Lacey hears voices from her past, like a shadow telling her to leave anyways
    - The boy the transcendent possessed comes to her door and Lacey asks him questions - he clearly does not remember being possessed by the transcendent

    - Igna and Shrad are notified about visitors from Surev and are curious about it
    - Sanahan enters and introduces himself and says he has news from Surev, Igna leaves Sanahan with Shrad
    - Sanahan (showing signs of possession) tells Shrad he is here to protect him, implies that Halid is doomed and tries to convince Shrad to convince the Senate and take over as heir to the throne

    - Lacey's priests and Lanahan are deciding what to do since Sanahan is currently at Ignat and with Shrad, they can't simply burst in and hunt down Sanahan
    - They also ask Lanahan about whteher she is sure the priest she saw was Lacey and Lanahan says that she has a gut feeling about it despite the priest appearing completely different than Lacey. The priests decide to trust Lanahan's instincts
    - One of the priests mentions she attached one of her fish Teru's scales to the mysterious person so she may be able to track them to a certain degree

    - Lacey receives her compensation for going on the boat to Weldon and is still thinking about her encounter with Lanahan
    - Lacey heads out onto the streets and is surprised to see Sanahan, who doesn't seem to recognize her - he tells her to get lost and Lacey is confused that he seems different than before, his teru, a dog, seems to recognize her scent - but Sanahan gets mad at his teru and Lacey escapes

    - Back in her room Lacey considers her plan - she plans on leaving Weldon as soon as possible and settling in the countryside under a new name
    - But she is hit with reminders of what the transcendent said, and Halid's words about the life he gave her not being enough for her to stay
    - She thinks about how she dreamed of staying with him and how it was like a fantasy to her, but also how she felt alienated and unworthy fooling everyone as 'Nerys'. She about how she is really an unworthy daughter of a prostitute rather than the noble wife and second coming of Rametis everyone saw her as
    - She realizes wanting to avoid being the savior was just an excuse and her sense of being an imposter was the real reason
    - She can't stop imagining Halid but the voices of her internal demons in the form of her former roles torment her - telling her he and the people she fooled will never welcome her back and never trust or revere her again
    - She starts getting sucked in by the voices and shadows in her mind but then notices the fish scale the priest attached to her and the voices begin to lose their power
    - Lacey decides she would rather try to see if she will be respected as her true self
    (end of volume)

    Onto the next volume!
    Lacey makes her choice
More surprising hints about Halid's past and what the villains want from them!
    - Shrad tells Igna he is going back to Inan since the Empress is gone
    - Igna tells him he should look out for his own safety and stay in Ignat and offers to go with him and bring soldiers from Ignat
    - Shard insists and tells Igna he leaves tomorrow

    - Sui, the priest that tracked Lacey with her magic wakes up after losing her connection with the mana and confirms that her teru is coming back to her
    - They can't know if Lacey followed the teru back but have confirmed that its her
    - Suddenly the door opens on a mysterious figure, it's Shrad
    - Shrad asks Lanahan to escort him to Inan and says that he knows he'll be kidnapped on his way there

    - We're given context for Shrad's childhood at the palace where he grew up under the care of the Empress
    - While Halid was a warrior on the battlefield, Shrad was not, his teru was a peaceful animal, a Marlin, not a predatory animal like most great warriors have
    - Shrad was viewed as a disappointment by many but the Empress loved and shielded him, and always seemed to be trying to protect him from something and soon realized that his mother was trying to prevent history from repeating (reading deeper, something that happened to Halid...)
    - Shrad explains that he knows Sanahan is being possessed and trying to lure him to Inan and that he recognized the same thing in Sanahan as the servant, who drugged Lacey at the wedding
    - Shrad implies he knows what they want and it's 'talented blood' they can use to 'write a new history'
    - Shrad explains they wanted to use the sacred objects that remained from the time before the curse when there were 4 imperial houses
    - The priest Sui, knows what he's talking about and says that experiments with those objects is forbidden and alludes to them being used to try and amplify magic. The sacred objects would be used on young children and the experiments often resulted in the children all dying.
    - At first the priests think Shrad is crazy because all the prior experiments failed and are now forbidden
    - Shrad gets a dark look on his face and says that these people clearly think that the experiments were a success and want him because he is related to the only known survivor of the experiments, Halid. And that they might also want any of his future children
Commentary break: (Holy shit this explains so much about why Halid has such insane and unmanageable powers. He wasn't born with them, someone experimented on him to make him this way... so he is kind of a savior manufactured by design, that is way darker than I expected his backstory to be:blobfearful:. But also now I wanna know how exactly this happened to him, and who's behind all of this)
    - They are startled by a sound outside, and go to the door, it's Lacey and she heard the whole thing

    - Change scene to Igna at Ignat castle who can't sleep and goes on a walk accompanied by her escort
    - Igna is trying to figure out why Sanahan, Halid's servant, is trying to lure Shrad to Inan and is trying to figure out why Halid would do that
    - Suddenly her guards are attacked and Sanahan emerges and kills the assailant and urges Igna to go with him in case there are more (aahhhh don't follow him girl!)

    - Lacey enters the room and takes off her disguise
    - she notifies Lanahan that someone else was eavesdropping who turns out to be one of Igna's escorts
    - She explains that the soundproofing magic on the room had been incorrectly so that their words could be heard from outside but they couldn't hear sounds from outside and that it was likely intentional
    - They consider that Igna's father may be behind it but realize there is a lack of motive
    - Lacey thinks of Sanahan's weird behaviour and thinks Igna might be in danger
    - Lacey points out that their interest in Shrad's bloodline may also mean they will target Igna for a similar reason and that they may be attempting it now that Shrad is not by Igna anymore

    - Back to Igna and Sanahan
    - Igna is suspicious about Sanahan's sudden appearance and thinks he is acting oddly
    - She asks him about the gift she gave him two years ago at the wedding after he helped her and Sanahan responds bluntly to her
    - Igna is surprised by his blunt and almost rude responses
    - She asks him why he approached her and then the mask of the manipulation falls off and he tells her he wouldn't have needed to be rough if she had just been obedient
    - Igna doesn't know he's possessed but is getting bad vibes
    - She uses her protective rune to fend him off but suddenly Lanahan appears behind him and tackles him. Lanahan is really pissed at Sanahan for his actions
    - Shrad, the priests and Lacey appear. Lanahan holds him down while Lacey approaches him
    - The possessed Sanahan calls Lacey a shameless cheat/ con woman
    - Lacey uses her magic to do the same things she did when she first met Caliph and attack the source of Sanahan's magic to find the mage controlling him.
    - She can see Sanahan's essence is colonized by a beehive (the bees being the imfluence of the parasitic mage) - she follows the source of the hive and finds the mage's mind
    - She is pulled into the mage's consciousness, the mage is named Maya, and she can see what she sees - she realizes she is in a room in Kazak where Shakira is on the bed unconscious
    - She finds a reflection and recognizes the priest as one of the priestesses who accompanied Shakira at the wedding in the past - she priest pushes Lacey out of her mind
    - Lacey wakes up and says she knows who the mage is
    - After Lacey leaves the priest in Kazak collapses

    - Far away Nell knows that something happened with Lacey, because Lacey connected with her to use her magic
    - Zephy asks Nell what is wrong and Nell tells him - Zephy notes its been two months since Nerys left and is surprised Nerys has held out this long on being separated from Nell

    Oh shit!
    - Caliph might be the traitor! :blobfearful: I thought he was innocent all this time because of his wife being victimised.
    - Why though??
    - Also Simon is making his dramatic entrance (talk about an unintentional cliffhanger)

    Wrapping up Volume 6

Wow, what a piece of shit...
Kaliph/Caliph was the traitor. This man really induced his own wife to have a miscarriage so he could look like a victim and avoid suspicion, not to mention the people he manipulated and murdered. All because he was hung up on some magic bloodline?? :blobcurse::blob_thor:
He is basically motivated to create a super strong magic bloodline and experimented on dozens of children to try to achieve it. He was responsible for kidnapping and experimenting on Halid and all the other kids died.
He's been manipulating things this whole time to try and get Halid to have a kid with a strong water mage to create the ultimate offspring and pass on the immense power he achieved through the experiments to the next generation of Irinna royalty.
He knew Halid would die anyway, either saving the world or from his crippling magic so he's been trying to create an heir to then manipulate.

Made it to the end of Volume 6. Fate fulfilled? (There's at least 2 more main volumes of this novel left and side stories so we shall see)

Thanks haha! Honestly I have no idea how it ends since I am still working on MTLing everything. But the reviews on Ridibooks seem to imply a happy ending
    And that's a wrap for Volume 7! :sweating_profusely:
It looks like we are gearing up for a full on confrontation with the shadow man and Lacey's past.

@rinainthemoon thank you very much for the mtls seriously I was supposed to review for a major exam but I can't just bear it and read this for 3 days I'm thankful for the summaries since it made the angst-y parts bearable... But I still skipped parts when Nerys left her comeback to the other side and pulling the count were great. It's just they're heartbreaking reveals as well .
Still, if he would have learned that she was his biological daughter, he would have used and hurt her more
I'm glad though that things ended up well.

SUMMARY OF SPOILERS (Don't forget to send love to @rinainthemoon for the mtls)
    Events around their wedding
    • New Characters
    • Shrad - Halid's younger brother
    • Igna - Shrad's fiancee. Her father and ministers from Ignat (a province from Irina) wanted her to be engaged with Halid. But he rejected and she was instead bethroted to Shrad. During the wedding she was sent to curtail favor from the "Crown Princess" Nerys (Lacey) and hopefully accepted as a second wife, or something, given that Nery's has no idea about things in Irina while Igna was raised (expected) to become the Empress since she looks similar to Rametis. Not an enemy. She became close with Nerys and Nefer. Even sailed with them to the other side.
    • Rametis - was a powerful water priestess who died to help stabilize Halid's power.
    • Metis - current water priestess presiding over Halid and Nery's wedding. Child of Rametis. Hates Halid.
    • Shakira - an earth priestess. Helped return FL's memories. Sanada and Lanada's mother. Halid's mother-figure.
    • Caliph - one of the ministers. Shakira's husband and Sanada and Lanada's father.
    • The wedding normally lasts two weeks, but it has been shortened to three days since they must return to Surev, ML's province. The imperial family hosts the banquet for all during these days, with unlimited food and drinks, and while the people celebrate, the bride and groom will be blessed in the inner sanctuary of the temple of water witnessed by the imperial family and high priests (Earth, Fire, Water, Wind). Then the bride and groom are led to an underground and locked for three days (y). Again it was traditionally two weeks. ;)
    • Igna was tasked to approach the crown prince and gain favor for Ignat. There was a pre-reception before the intimate blessing, but Ignat could not join since only "close" people were allowed. She tried to ask for help from Metis, since Metis favors her. Metis could not help but suggest she should try to ask help from Nefer to be able to get close to the crown princess and give her a gift. Igna hurriedly sailed to the side door of the imperial palace, but this was blocked off for the safety of the imperial family. All guests should use the main gates. Igna's group is arrogant, thinking that she is the fiancee she should be allowed :ROFLMAO:, but Sanada, who was guarding the area, was not budging and even beat up one of the arrogant handlers of Igna. Luckily, Shrad came and begged Sanada to give leeway. Only Igna was allowed entry. The rest were asked to turn back.
    • Igna met with Nefer and said some things like wanting to be friends with the crown princess since they will be "family" (she's the fiancee of the 2nd prince, after all) soon. Metis gave igna a special piece of jewelry that she treasures most (it's amethyst with a strong purification rune), and Igna was going to give this to FL. Nefer saw right throw Igna's "black" heart. But still, she brought them with her to meet FL.
    • FL's teru is a mermaid fairy named Nell. When FL's door was opened so she could mingle with these chosen people, a strong wave of mana burst out, and people knelt and revered her as the embodiment of the sea. When she and ML did the meet and greet, the nobles were speechless, just staring. (y)
    • Igna failed to curry favor. She was so entralled that she just unconsciously presented her precious gift without saying anything. This caused her to run away and hide somewhere for a while after this failure. She cried at a garden where Sanada helped hide her since he knows that she would not like for her retainers see her weak. He covered her with his clothing and acted like he was on a tryst to shoo them away. He left without taking his clothing back. She returned the clothing after engraving a purification rune on it and asked Nefer for help.
    • FL got poisoned. ML noticed that there was something wrong with FL during the exchange of wine at the inner sanctuary and even warned her subtly not to drink the wine offered by Metis. The blessing was barely finished when he rushed her to the underground and "helped" her. She ingested something that could essentially make her a berserker - no limiter for her mana usage. Luckily Nell cut their connection off. But the side effect is "aphrodisiac".
    • ML purposely drowned. The cave is large. It has a bed, food, a small pool, and a deep pool. ML purposely drowns himself to help FL unconsciously merge with Nell and to see if she would save him. She did, and she even scolded him. And they snusnu.
    • Shrad is a suspect and ML shows to have more than one element. FL remembers eating a pomegranate gifted by the 2nd prince during the pre-reception. But FL, Nefer, Shrad, and Igna at together. It was later found that one of his maids was the culprit and was "possessed". But this maid was also recommended by Shakira. ML, despite being known to have wind element, burns her.
    • FL returns Igna's jewelry. Nefer sent a letter asking FL to return the jewelry as a favor since Igna treasures it most. FL agrees, hitting three birds with one stone - gains friendship with Igna, she acts benevolent, and Nefer owes her. In order not to offend Igna, she used her old wedding customs/superstition as an excuse - something new, something blue, something old, and something borrowed. FL said she was able to achieve the first three but had a problem with the last one. Since she has no friends, she cannot borrow something. Nefer the tomboy doesn't have anything to lend. So, if Igna allows her jewelry to be returned, she would be able to fulfill FL's superstitions. FL also learns that she has purification abilities. ML knows that she will know thru Igna but still allowed it.
    • Metis makes FL doubt ML's "chasteness". Metis met with FL and "shared" that ML originally had a fiancee - Ashera. False, by the way, since they were never betrothed. They just assumed it since they were close in the sanctuary, more like boardmates, and because ML never showed interest in other women. But the way Metis talked about it, ML just looked for FL after Ashera died three years ago due to the same poison she ingested during the wedding. ML went on a campaign against the creatures to gain merit and be able to demand he be allowed to go to the other side. And of course, he has no interest in others.
    • FL thinks she is just a replacement. FL's memory returns before the wedding. So she was able to remember their promise. However, it took 12 years before they were able to meet again. In a nutshell, she believed that ML came looking for her only after Ashera died since he needs someone who can stabilize him. People thought that Ashera caused ML to willfully control his power. In truth, it was just coincidence that she died prior to his voyage. In fact, he was on his way to the capital to announce his victory and make his demands to sail. But, the doubt has been placed.

    Main Issue at Irina
I skipped a big portion of this since it made me frustrated :p But there are still spoilers.
    • FL told ML she loves him and she does.
    • Sanada was possessed.
    • Caliph is the main villain. He even made Shakira miscarry so they will not doubt him.
    • Marcera, Ashera's sister, kept bugging them, and one time, FL saw them "hugging". ML was actually suspicious that Marcera was possessed and he was laying a trap.
    • FL became a mysterious healer in the slums to practice her ability.
    • FL ran away months before their contract expiredo_O. In order for her not to be tracked by ML's ability, she left Nell at Surev, maintaining only a slight mana connection. She used Nefer's teru horse to go to Ignat and pose as a minor priest and sneak as one of the envoys back to Weldon. She believes her happiness - freedom - will be achieved if she is able to live in a quaint house somewhere in the mountains. She cut her hair
    • Apparently, FL learns that is supposed to be "sacrificed" to destroy the monsters but ML will do anything so she does not have to do so. He was blocking news of her powers so that she would not be forced to use them. But a situation happened where all purification jewelry was notified that the "savior" is here. To prevent further trouble and to get her freedom, she runs away.
    • Lanada and Igna find and recognize her. Shrad knows he is in danger. Igna was placed in danger when Sanada's possession was activated.
    • Dragon of the border and witch reveals that: It was not FL that would be sacrificed. Rather, she was just the trigger to make ML spur towards protecting Irina on his own to protect FL (prevent her from being martyred).
    • ML was experimented on:blob_teary:. The monster curse started when the kings of Fire, Earth, and Wind went to kill all of the people in the native land. The curse was making the dead "zombies". Water tribe, which did not join in the massacre, can only slow down or mitigate the curse but not cure it. Only the original tribes can break the curse. Unfortunately, the royalty of these tribes died. So, people experimented on ML to see if they can put three elements on him . That is why he cannot originally his powers, I think his mother knows this thus the awkward relationship. He ran away and that was when he met FL. He returned and willed himself to control his powers so he can return to FL. Now, he will sacrifice himself to break the curse.
    • FL returned to stop ML from doing the crazy plan. He succeeds though, and they snusnu :X3:

    Back to Weldon
    • FL, ML, Nefer, Igna, and the gang return to Weldon. Can't say the real reason since, again, I skipped some parts. But it seems unofficial though, since the succeeding chapters talk about them just coming without sending notice first.
    • On their way to the other side, ML had to "shutdown" to fix his raging mana. There are several inside him that wants to take over his body. So for the majority of their stay in Weldon its girl power mayhem. FL dyed her hair silver. Igna studied the language. They told their translator not to reveal that several of them can speak the language. FL wanted the others off-guard so that they will talk freely thinking that they would not be understood. :blobokhand:
    • "Play" at the golden ship. Roseria (crown princess - Rose), Count Hillsdale (FL's client "father" - Count), and Interpreter (Irinian Ambassador in Weldon) visited the golden ship. Roseria is pregnant and was getting nauseous in the carriage but felt well when she boarded the stable ship. Igna, Nefer, then Nerys arrived at the table one after the other. It was awkward since there is no topic to start with, luckily Nerys' child (Nell in a child form) came (as planned) with her pet tiger. There were discussions, like the CP Daniel (Dan) coronation etc. Count said some rude words and Igna got "mad". Count was planning to make Igna 2nd queen to CP  poor Rose :(. But this was part of FL's plan to trip the count.
    • We don't need a man. During the official visit to the palace, FL showed them their wealth by bringing lots of jaw-dropping mountains of gold and jewelry. When they were about to enter count insists that Dan "escort" FL since it is customary that no woman should face the monarch without a man in her side. It was hilarious how the ladies dealt with that. First, they pointed that in Irina women are strong and can stand for themselves. :blobtorch:They don't need men to hold their hand. The count mentioned that escorting is for protection so they exclaimed that the palace is not safe then that they could not protect their guests:blobpitch:. :ROFLMAO: Then, Sanada presented himself since he is FL's knight:lordmeow:. But Igna said that he could not do so since one should be equal or higher than Dan who is the crown prince who presented to escort FL. :hmm: So, FL commanded Nefer who is a warrior and a princess (equal to Dan who is not a crown prince yet) to be her escort. The trio reminded them that this is a concession. We will follow your tradition of escort but on their terms. At first, the nobles looked down on how barbaric the group was - Nefer donned her armor then and there and even "accidentally" stabbed her spear at the floor and cracked it :blob_thor: - but the noble ladies were awed that it is possible to be amazing despite being a woman. (Meh. Men and their insecurities)
    • Rose is pitiful:meowsadlife:. While the count was trying to make FL be escorted by Dan, she arrived. She was even feeling down when FL told Dan to escort his princess instead since FL now has Nefer. But the count made Dan escort Igna instead ::blobcatsad::since he has this plan to pair them up. Rose is also getting worried with her baby. She is jealous that FL's daughter (Nell playing the daughter part) can become the monarch. Unlike in Weldon that she is pressured to have a boy child. And that, she will never be the only one in Dan's life :blobexpressionless: Due to stress and pressure, she rans away and was rescued by the Trio and brought to the ship and consoled.
    • Count is smacked :blobtaco:. When Ros "disappeared", her carriage was "found" in front of the ship. Count is suspecting that Nerys is Veronica and even told Dan about it. So with this incident, Count brought Dan and the army to search the ship. They got beaten by Sanada and Lana :blob_pompom:. Nefer stealthily brought Ros back to the palace and they all agreed that that night NEVER HAPPENED. :pikablob: So, a messenger came that the crown princess was at the palace just avoiding them :derpyblob:. Count was gobsmacked. How could that be possible? So he and Dan tried to leave silently. Since they can just brush this as a subordinate's over loyalty and they can avoid responsibility. But Sanada did not allowed it and zoomed to him and tackled him down. He tried to hit the count once with his spear for all the trouble he did to FL but FL came out as crown princess in her sleeping attire:blob_blush:. Dan was mesmerized he tried looking for traces of Veronica and he found some. But now the situation is troublesome since count is revealed to be the instigator of this unofficial raid. Worse, the Irinian are innocent since the princess is found in the palace. FL smacked the count in the face leaving a long gash.
    • Banquet fiasco. When FL went to the palace the first time, Ros was tasked to hold a welcome banquet. Because of the unofficial ship raid, the trading partnership may now be over. Luckily, the Iranian group will still be attending the banquet, and now they will use this to settle some things :blobflag:. The emperor scolded the Count since it had been revealed that he was involved. Instead of backing down, count plans something else. He invited the famous painter whose muse was Veronica. Count forced the painter to come by stealing his painting of Veronica at 16 years old. While the count was setting up the "surprise" to trap FL, Ros and everybody else were watching a theater play about the love triangle of Rose, Dan, and Veronica. After this, everybody was asked to dress themselves for a masquerade. They all then came to the first floor, but the paintings of Veronica are now mounted up, and everybody sees Nery's and Veronica's similarities. FL dyed her hair white, but her eyes were still amethyst, and the painter called to her with certainty :blobcatthinkingglare: - he didn't mean to put her into a hotspot, but he was just so glad to see his muse again :blobimfine:. Now, with the instigations of the count, they forced FL to remove her mask and see more of her face. They even questioned her identity and legitimacy. Igna and Nefer really got angry, but they were physically trapped in the area.:blobcurse:
    • "Mentor" comes. He is the main villain and the one who erased FL's memory of ML. Apparently, he is darkness and the embodiment of the continent. FL, according to him, was his masterpiece, and she belonged to him:blobcat_knife:. While ML was in shutdown mode, and FL was at the banquet, he came to the ship and knocked everybody out. :blobpensivepray: He then messed with ML's memories:blobconcerned:. Fortunately, ML was able to regain it immediately. Love wins::bloblove::. ML gets up and went towards where he could feel FL.
    • Disaster? Back at the banquet, when FL removed her mask, Rose fainted. They are now certain that she is Veronica and that she is simply impersonating the crown princess of Nerys. They are pointing out that the crown prince is not with them. But, they all shut up when ML comes and immediately ravishes FL. :meowsip: Take that you f*cks :meowknifepeek:. Nefer called them back to the situation and even reprimanded ML to be careful - FL is preggy ::bloblove::. ML proceeds to reprimand their rudeness and accuse his crown princess who is even at a delicate stage - she's carrying the next imperial line :meowknifepeek:. Some things were said and then ML and company walked out.
    • Daniel knows it's FL is Veronica. The banquet happened three days before the CP coronation and after that ML refuses to see any from Weldon. Still, FL knows that they came for the best interest of Irina, so in the end, they still attended the coronation. When it ended, ML immediately left the area. Dan looked towards FL and ML's carriage until it can no longer be seen and reminices about Veronica. How she was the only one who was on her side when no one can "see" him. He recognized her and even warned her before the play during the banquet started as he escorted her to their viewing room.
    • Trading. FL connected back with Madam Fiore to get the antidote used by "mentor" when he attacked the boat. She also talked about Madam Fiore handling the trading with Irina. Instead of Weldon monopolizing the distribution, it will now be handled by Madam Fiore, and the point of trading will be changed to another country that also has ports but a little smaller than Weldon's. Trading with Irina was one of the reasons why other countries were willing to ally and curry favor with them. But now, they lost this advantage as well as money.
    • FL's biological father:meowpuffytears:. It's the count. Back in the day, he kept visiting a certain brothel because he fell in love with a woman who could not speak but could sing well. FL's mom was a mermaid:blobhyperthink:. He only stopped when his father found out about it. It was Madam Fiore who revealed this. She had already known in the past but was not sure if FL would find happiness with him. :blobmelon: Madam saw that FL would not be happy with how ambitious the Count was. But this ambitiousness stemmed from being illegitimate - unwanted and unseen - until the heir died. When he learned of this, he drowned himself in alcohol. And did not even attend the coronation despite the efforts he placed to achieve this.
    Epilogue
    • Surev is now considered the second capital of Irina.
    • FL and ML have a son Asad, then a daughter, Nisha (given by Asad).
    • Simon and Nefer are an item but not married.
    • Sanahan, I think, became a wanderer since he did some bad things even while possessed. He's atoning, I think.

I know this may be irrelevant but what happened to the count who backstab the fl in the beginning of the story? Did the truth get revealed to the crown prince and his (angel face) lover or to the kingdom? I really want to see karma for them but I can't seem to find anything about them?

Yes, we find out what happens to him. In the final arc of the story Lacey and Halid go back to Weldon.
The Count tries to unmask Lacey as the villainess Veronica but fails.
It get's revealed that the Count was (ironically) Lacey's biological father (her mother was a prostitute).
Lacey never learns this but the headmistress of Fiore tells the Count after Lacey leaves for her happily ever after with Halid. The headmistress knew the whole time but thought the Count never deserved to know because of how coldly he treated Lacey.
The Count is devastated and rendered numb by this revelation and dies in a fire, unable to stop staring at a portrait of 'Veronica' that he kept after her role as his 'fake daughter' ended.
    - The kingdom as a whole doesn't learn the truth. The Count tries to unmask Lacey to the Court but she and Halid manage to play it off that 'Nerys' is someone different. So the kingdom assumes she is a different person who coincidentally happens to look like Veronica (Lacey had to act her ass off to make it happen and it was glorious).
    - The Crown Prince knows in his gut that 'Veronica' and Nerys are the same person. He feels bad about how it ended and still feels that he genuinely loved Veronica at some point. I can't remember if the Count ever told him if she was an actress or not? But he ends up seeing she is doing well as 'Nerys'. He keeps the secret to himself and wishes her well.
    - Rosaria(?) (the lover) married the Crown Prince and is pregnant with their first child. She meets 'Nerys' and likes her but never learns she was 'Veronica'

My impression is that the CP genuinely came to love the FL and didn't know she was an actress, but the FL was just acting the part of being enamoured the whole time and didn't really love him.
They didn't sleep together, because of him being a prince and noble culture demanding women don't have sex before marriage etc... It sounds like she mostly acted like she loved him in public and used her social popularity and wit rather than seduction to win the Prince over.
The FL was a virgin when she met the ML, but had some prior sexual experience and knowledge, her teachers at Fiore abused her taught her seduction techniques and she grew up surviving on the streets with a mother who was a prostitute. It's explained that Weldon (the magic-less country) doesn't have widely available magical or medicinal contraceptives so doing it would have put her at risk of getting pregnant.

Wait I'm still so confused about Halid and his "ex fiance" did he lover her? That was why Lacey decided to leave right? Because of this an her feeling like an imposter??
