If I remember correctly the people that are being influenced by Liena's Blessing have cloudy auras and cloudy eyes. Ethel becomes suspicious because people act way too extrem to defend Liena's actions. Once Ethel talked more to those influenced people they seem to see how absurd they act and that they abandoned their values.

Ethels Blessing is persuasion. I think during a ride with Roland Cassius ( maybe alrdy earlier) she is testing her suspicion about Liena's blessing and frees him from that while talking to him.

If this is true, I kind of feel bad for the duke and his sons now. Because in the first life everybody seemed happy or at least happy enough, but this fudging two-stupid-ponytails beach comes and ruins everything because LiFe'S uNfAiR I DeSeRvE mOaRRRR. I would actually be interested in reading another story or side story in which one of the major characters (like the duke or one of his sons or even the other prince) tries to get BACK to the first timeline. The first timeline seems like the happiest timeline since everybody was alive and living well enough, except that dumb childish beesh.

Haven't finished it but I think I like it, not a very good novel but quite good. I like how Riena change before her death when she realized the only one who's really love her is just Ethel and she betrayed her

I can't believe Leana stole MC's whole life, knew MC was the only one who loved the real her, had the 1st master marry her for a mine, had everyone ignore her for 2 years, but couldn't even give up on stealing her mine to get her back.

Could you also please let us know what is the Ducal's family reaction to finding out MC was the girl they were supposed to adopt? And also their reaction when their brainwashing wears off?
What is their feelings towards MC and towards Leana in these 2 cases?

Also, from what I read, MC's ex-husband only saw her as a sister and that's why he didn't touch her and treated her coldly so she wouldn't fall in love with him?

 

Spoiler: About the Adoption

The real conclusion to this starts in Chapter 141. Ethel prepared evidence to convince the Duke Cassius that she was supposed to be adopted by him since she was the closest person to his dead wife. She brought statements from other children staying at the orpahange and also brought along a former teacher called Angela. After a day he verified the evidence and finally questioned Liena.

“Liena, I am truly disappointed in you.”

"Dad! “What do you mean!”

Liena was startled by Duke Cassius' cold attitude.

“I heard about it from Angela here. “The child who was originally close to my wife, Cheryl, was Ethel, and you tricked me into adopting you.”

The moment the truth of the past was revealed, Liena only opened her eyes wide and could not utter a word.

“That’s a lie!”

Then she burst into a fit of rage.


Liena tried to convince him Ethel was lying, didn't work. He asked both Liena and Ethel something only the person closest to his wife can know. Ethal ofc knew the answer. At this point Liena changed her tactic and tried to act like she was being abused and ignored in the orpahange and thats why she lied (trying to act pitiful). Didn't work since the Duke questioned her if she was rly ignored by all, how come Ethel said they were friends and happy together. Knowing Liena and Ethel were friends made the Duke also question why Liena didn't help her 'friend' to get along in the house and also never mentioned them being friends in the first place (which actually could have helped Ethel to get a better treatment by the Cassius family).

“Looking back, your attitude back then was clearly strange. You said you were afraid of losing our affection to Ethel. I think I understand now.” (Duke)

"Dad!" (Liena)

“You were afraid it would be taken away because it wasn’t yours to begin with.” (Duke)

At that moment, Riena's time seemed to stop.

She then asks for forgiveness and that she only wanted a family but then..........

Spoiler: Reaction after Brainwashing

When Liena tried to beg for forgiveness the Duke finally questions her about brainwashing them into loving her.

A faint light of hope appeared on Riena’s face.

From the Duke's pain-stained look, she seemed certain that he had not yet completely withdrawn his affection for her.

“Then why did you use black magic to make us love you?”

But the next words shattered that hope.

The Cassius family had a meeting and they figured this all out by themselves btw. They looked back and couldn't understand their actions. Ethel didn't bother to clear the misunderstanding with it being the work of black magic. The Duke offers Liena help and wants to send her to a hospital to get treatment so she stops brainwashing people. Liena ofc wasn't happy and tries to run away....

Spoiler: Complicated feelings

The Duke and his sons feel sorry for what they did to Ethel.

Duke Cassius' face darkened.

“Ethel, no matter how much I do for you, it’s not enough. I am truly sorry for all this time. “No words can justify what we did to you for Riena.”

He solemnly apologized.

"Sorry."

“I realized it too late.”

Leandro and Rehaim, who had just entered the office in search of their father, also joined in the apology.

Later in the story they will kick Liena out of their family but still have mixed feelings towards her, love/hate.

 

I have mixed feelings about story involving brainwashing.
On one hand I know I can't blame them because they are not in their right mind. They are not themselves.
But on other Hand, there is that part of me who firmly believe that if you truly love someone, no matter how brainwashed you are, you must find a way to fight it.
Treat me as a romantic cool but to me love prevails.

But they didn't love MC. They only knew MC for 2 years and they met her after they had been brainwashed for don't know how many years before.

 

I read in a comment that the husband was the ml and I was forced to find the spoilers because NO WAY IN HELL am I gonna continue to read this if it was like that.
But disappointingly, a brinwashing spell plot point again... then pin it down to someone that was taken over by an evil spirit or some other

 

The way MC acts like a true white lotus bitch to frame her "mother" in the last chapter was awesome.

The family won't fall so the doggy should be fine still . The just lost all the extra power they got thru their former daughter and thats it.

 

Finished reading the webnovel a few days ago, and the Cassius family does feel a deep regret towards the FL. Despite the Cassius duke and the brothers knowing they were brainwashed, in the end they still loved OgFL genuinely and were probably the only ones to do so.

 

More spoiler please is there any details about how the trial for their divorce? How was the butler's son, is he cured? Do they (butler and his son) ever get a proper apology from the duke?

 

Spoiler: Leandro's Feelings

To give a complete overview I will start with what happened in the first timeline.

Ethel is the one who the Duke Cassius wants to adopt/support. Ethel and Leandro grow up like siblings but more than that are friends. When it comes to the part where Leandro is being urged to marry he asks Ethel to be his partner. Ethel flatly refuses him and reminds him of the feeling of closeness they feel is no love. Leandro agrees and the matter passes.


Second timeline
Ethel was adopted into the Wallace family. Liena wants the mine so to do that they plan a marriage alliances to get it. Leandro goes to Wallace and meets Ethel. After that he seems happy after meeting her.


“Marriage is a good trick. “All you have to do is get the mine as a dowry.”

"but… … .”

“Because the gap between families is so big, everyone will whisper, but if you focus on marriage, you will focus, and no one will pay attention to the mine, right?”

“There’s no need for you to get married because of me!”

“Not just for you. Lady Wallace seemed like a nice person... … “For some reason, I keep getting interested.”

"what?"

“Even though it was my first time seeing him, I would say it felt strangely familiar. “I’ve never seen someone like that before.”


Seems like the feelings of the first timeline are comming through. Still, this is no love but the feeling for someone you were close with.
In this timeline Ethel runs away and Wallace adopts a replacement daughter which conuses Leandro but he still went through with marriage....


Third timeline
Leandro married Ethal but because of Liena mentioning that she is scared of losing the families affection they all agree on avoiding Ethel ( even tho Leandro still feels that connection to Ethel, but Liena's influence is stronger at this point).

Later the whole family apologizes.

Duke Cassius' face darkened.

“Ethel, no matter how much I do for you, it’s not enough. I am truly sorry for all this time. “No words can justify what we did to you for Riena.”

He solemnly apologized.

“I realized it too late.”

Leandro and Rehaim, who had just entered the office in search of their father, also joined in the apology.

In the end the Cassius family and Leandro publicly congratulated Ethal when she married Terence. The story never really focused on how he feels now, more like how he felt in the past timelines.

 

So the mom and OG fl lead are villains while the duke and brothers repent

Hmmmmm. I wish authors stpped shoving there daddy issues and need for male validation into these novels
