Spoiler: Serdebella Backstory - Part 1

She and her fam are really poor and barely got by. They were beggars and it doesn't help that her dad was a drunkard and drug addict. But her dad found this nasty noble (I think he's some old baron) and brought her to him. The old noble was a pedophile and would do dirty stuff to the child - it was not delved in detail in the side story in ridi but it is heavily implied that the old noble s*xually assaulted and r*ped kid Serdebella. In exchange for doing all the nasty stuff to Serdebella, the old noble would give a bag of money to the father. So now they are well fed and all, even being able to have the steak that Serdebella had always wanted to eat be served on their dinner table. But Serdebella could not even eat it because she is disgusted from knowing that this all came from all of the atrocious things the noble did to her.

Her dad did not listen to her that she didn't like what that old guy was doing, that it was scary, that she was in pain and that she didn't want to go - all he did was drag her to the mansion for money. Her mother went with what her dad did and when the dad apologized to her, and she did not accept it, her mom slapped her really hard. her brother had an idea of what's been going on with the parents and her sister but did nothing to stop it nor help her bc all that mattered was the nice food entering their mouth.

(This terrible experience with this old pedophile also influenced her when it came to having s*x. When you reread her s*x scenes with El and the Emperor, notice how cold and thoughtless it is on her side. She just sees it as an act that you can do to just satisfy your s*xual needs, just as how the old noble would do whatever acts he did to her to simply satisfy himself)

So this all continued and it got to the point she became lost in her emotions. Her fear had turned into resentment, anger, hatred, and murderous intent. She would locked herself in her room and wished for her parents and older bro to be killed. She has closed off her heart and so the normal reactions like those of enjoyment and surprise for a kid are not there anymore. But she deeply wished that a prince would save her from her terrible situation.

Then she met God who was pretending to be a nonchalant young boy with black hair and showed her magic. God said she was chosen and they need her, so she should come with them as they will change her destiny and not to worry about her family bc they will forget her in one week. So she came with them to heaven. When she is on her way to heaven, she thought that a black haired prince saving her wasn't bad, even though she never imagined the prince being black haired until she saw God in that form.

She spends one mo,th in heaven with God. She was well fed with delicious meat and bred, showered with warm water, and walked on fluffy clouds. But she had no reaction or whatsoever and was always wary bc in her mind, when nice things are given, something bad always happens ,so eventually God got bored of taking care of her.

So then God called the Archangel El, and passed on the responsibility of taking care of the next saintess to him. At first he blamed her on her timid personality and cursed under his breath since now he had to take of a human which he had never done in his entire life but still took it upon himself so he can be able to make her open up since he couldn't defy or protest against God unlike Kaylehartz. He read countless books about humans and did everything he could to make her open herself up.

At this point, Serdebella was like the black hair prince, God, also abandoned me and was worrying where and when she would be abandoned this time.

El did everything he could but Serdebella wasn't opening up to him. So he called upon Kaylehartz to help him with taking care of the next saintess. Kaylehartz was like so what am I supposed to do? And El was like help me take care of her and educate her, just having a decent conversation with her is enough. And Kayle being Kayle was like so what? El was so fed up and was like please understand and just do it.

So then Kayle sat on his legs and looked at her. When Serdebella looked at him, her eyes widened with admiration. She thought of him as a real prince, a black haired one at that. And she noticed how handsome he was.

El was like omfg she noticed him and opened herself up, I'm so incompetent and so he left everything up to Kayle. Kayle was like yo but then El just left the two of them xD now Kayle was like wtf am I gonna do, I don't know anything about humans.

So then being the demon he was, he asked her what her wish was. At first she was skeptical bc to her, you need to trade something you have to get what you want, so she said I'm gonna die because I have nothing to give you in return. But Kaylehartz was like the price is to listen well to El from now on, so tell me. Then her dull eyes shined with terrifying desire and darkness, which Kaylehartz has seen a lot of times. She wished for her parents to be killed because of all what they did to her and the one to fulfill that wish was Kaylehartz. This is why she fell head over heels for Kaylehartz - she saw him as a knight in shining armour; someone who could do anything and is very dependable. To her, Kaylehartz was the prince she had been longing and wishing for. That's why she did everything she could to win him.

Spoiler: Serdebella Backstory - Part 2

So as I mentioned, Kaylehartz killed Serdebella's parents and it happened before a day passed, and so Serdebella became brighter again. Kayle just felt a little sorry for El who brought her dolls and candies without knowing that she was not a good child at all. And as I mentioned, she got obssessed with Kayle, who was the "my Mr. Wizard who will listen to anything."

Anyways, because of her power as saintess, she can cross any dimensions, so she learned about gods, humans and other dimensions. She knew all of it, and to her, all of them were beneath her feet.

At this point in time, she started writing out the delusions she had since she was a child. This was clearly the series that she wrote, which our Erina had read before transmigration. She did everything to make it gradually come true. Unlike before, now that she had become a woman, she treated El and Kayle like a lover.

The first to give his heart was El. Originally, El thought that she had been acting like a child and so he thought she needed a different kind of education other than academics. But the more she wanted physical contact with him and the more this occurrences happened between the two of them, the more El fell for Serdebella and eventually he completely gave himself to her.

When this happened, it all seemed so easy to her. All she had to do was to imagine, plan and everything will happen. Power, fame and wealth will come her with just one smile and one tear.

But her greed didn't end there. Her pinnacle of desire was Kaylehartz and she really wanted to cherish her whole life with him, her Mr. Wizard, the black-haired prince, who saved her.

So it came to the point when she asked Kaylehartz to be her companion. He rejected her. I repeat. He fcking rejected her. He didn't even want her to be his companion.

Of course, this woman got depressed and El, who is already in love with her, saw it and asked what he could do for her. She was Kayle rejected me as his companion yada yada yada please ask him to reconsider.

Actually, Kayle stopped paying attention to Serdebella the moment she doesnt cower in the corner anymore and eats well. He literally is minding his own business but then whenever she is on a tantrum, El will listen to her and she will make him go to Kayle's castle to guilttrip him with how sad or whatever Serdebella's condition is and persuade him to entertain Serdebella. So those acts he did to her like staying for one hour or more with her and all of those b's she said to Erina or whatever was mentioned in the main story was all bc El was being annoying to Kayle and Kayle was just like fine, whatever, let's get this over with.

So then bc of the rejection, as usual El went to Kaylehartz's office and was like you attach little importance to the position of companion, and Kayle was like you're bothering me. Here we find out that it wasn't that Kayle didn't enjoy or take pleasure in women, but he never knew what love was. He never even said it with his own mouth. Because of this, he never suffered any heartache and he never devoted himself to someone else. So he never attached any meaning to the word 'companion'. (So now we confirmed Merson isn't virgin when he did it with Erina xD)

Then El was like just look at how hard Bella is working as saintess, but now she wants to give it all up to be your companion; she never had to do things on her own terms in her life yada yada she found what she wanted, but can't you give her that one thing? Kayle was like wtf is this guy on? Even the demons, the angels and the human kings are doing what they want, however they want. He asked El what he wants and El said he wants make Bella's wishes come true. Kayle was like it's not enough to care about a human, so now you're trying to do foolish things.

Of course, El gets triggered. But he has no choice since Serdebella wanted Kayle not El. So El negotiates, even tho what he offers was something he didn't want to say. El said that if Bella becomes Kayle's companion, the angels will not point their blades at the demons even if the demons themselves kill or injured them because he will stop his fellow angels. Kayle was like you're a crazy bastard, but then he was like this is not a loss for me since all it would take was giving away a spot of mana to someone but in exchange creating an unexpected high ranking mercenary (El) who one cannot hire no matter how much money one offers. So then Kayle nods without saying anything, which also got El hurt since Serdebella will now be with Kayle as a true couple. Of course, Kayle didn't care that El is hurt lmao.

Then El goes to Serdebella and informs her that Kayle agreed to make her his companion. Of course, Serdebella is so happy and says thank you. El was like I will tell God about it so all you have to do it wait until the process of becoming his mate is over. Then she says I love you, El and El was like I just want you to be happy and I'll protect you by my side forever. Now, for her, everything she has dreamed of is about to become true. Her pride soared to the sky and she couldn't believe that the world that she thought was pathetic and starting to look the same to her was this easy.

Now, she had to do the next step, which only Kayle can do and which she wants Kayle to do. It was to destroy the village where she was born without a trace, the village that had trapped her before. Here we find out that Serdebella is actually born in Bennon village, the one Kaylehartz/Merson obliterated in the beginning of the story. She literally is from the same hometown as OG Erina.

She was hoping that the conflict with Kayle, who would kill her brother, her only blood relative left in the village, could create a dramatic love story between her and Kayle, and that the prince (Kayle) would punish the village that had trapped her.

So to set this plan into motion, Serdebella met with her brother and told him that if he, a worthless human who "wanted to twist her neck because of envy", wanted to become someone special like her, he needed power. So she taught him about how eating demons can make you gain power and how to summon them. She also told him how to plan all of this.

So, as she wanted, her brother and the people in the village summoned a demon and consumed their flesh, and "her own beloved prince" (Kayle) went to kill all of them as she planned. All she had to do now was to wait for the massacre to be over and for Kaylehartz to come back to the demon world.

But then Kaylehartz was absent for too long. Even when she asked El, all she got was that he had disappeared. His disappearance was very much unplanned and things went awry for her from that moment on.

Obviously, when she saw him again, she was so shocked of how different he was and how he was with another woman (our Erina). He would give our Erina the kindest smile that Serdebella had never seen before, he whispered to our Erina, he hugged her affectionately, behaved so kindly that our Erina felt burdened. All of these actions were so unlike Kaylehartz - it wasn't the prince, who was supposed to exist only for her, that Serdebella knew. She was really jealous and did everything she could to get Kayle back, thus all of those drama in the main story.

And that's the end of her backstory.

Yeah after reading the two chapters about Serdebella, I went to reread the beginning of the novel, the scenes where she appears and the scenes in the middle of the story, and ngl, even though I don't like her as a person, those scenes hit more differently now that I know her backstory.

 

oh this even clears up alot of the indiscrepencies between Erina's knowledge from the novel she read and what she was actually expecting
for a smutty novel the plot is really nicely fleshed out here it's always so nice when the way the "characters in the book" not acting exactly how the MC expects isn't always just attributed to and "oh it's b/c you aren't acting exactly the same as how it was written in the book" especially if the MC is transmigrated into a complete side character where their lives usually aren't fleshed out in detail in books anyways

 

Ikr. Knowing that It was never a novel written by some author that MC goes into, but someone else's collection of delusions and imagination becoming true due to the writer's own perseverance and conniving, makes this so unique on its own.

Honestly, now I want this to be adapted into a manhwa.........

Spoiler: Aftermath of Serdebella's Ending

So she ends up in the deepest parts of hell and she would lose consciousness many times as she would feel the intense burning of her whole body everytime.

During this despair and misery, she would call for El to save her but we all know that he has been annihilated or some sort. He never came no matter how many time she called for him. Only at this point that she realized that the only one who had truly loved her was El, no one else. She looked back to all the atrocious things he did to him and regretted all of it.

Amidst all of this, Count Abitz who was also there found her and punched her with his fist, cursing at her. Then of course, she hit him back and cursed at him as well. These encounters happen majority of the time; they met each time and all that happened between them was cursing at each other while in constant hand-to-hand combat.

Serdebella is filled with low-level anger, despair and regret. Recognizing her miserable situation, she looked back into her past where lived in reverence, but she felt really bitter. She still had a vain wish that all of this was just a nightmare she could wake up from. She still foolishly believed that El was not annihilated and that she would soon be saved.

So she kept calling El's name, who would never come back forever.

I searched up and down google to see if there are plans for webtoon or if there are any art for it, but no luck. ;--;
