Because of this unfortunate event many of the army has somewhere to help than in a camp. Maxi is relief she doesn't have to sleep in a cold night in a tent. She went inside a shack and laid her bedroll in front of the fireplace and fell asleep. Maxi felt a strong arm enveloping her and saw him sleeping and she wish it could last forever. He watches a while sleeping Riftan and then decides to get up but pull back down backward and Riftan hands were between her legs. Both were alone in the shack but behind the doors were the soldiers and any moment a solider could come in. Maxi urges Riftan to get up but he is doing snu snu with Maxi while he is sleeping. Sleeping Riftan is doing love with Maxi and both were under the blanket and she was suppressing her moans, and anyone walked by, they knew what they were doing and she was mortified being discovered. Those thoughts were forgotten as Riftan was going more deep in her. Riftan once woke up his eyes were in in shock and cover Maxi with a blanket and wipes between her legs and cusses and why didn't she stop him and should've bashed his head. Maxi question Riftan if he is blaming her? Riftan thought he was dreaming. Riftan was in such a deep sleep that he had mistaken reality for a dream. Riftan has never once lowered his ground and that he hurted Maxi. She just shakes her head. Now they are getting more close as couples should be. Finally Riftan is listening to Maxi wishes and also Maxi be honest as everytime you ride your whole body is aching and when someone comes up and is concern how you feel you say otherwise and you know inside you aren't. Richt didn't said anything to her, he was just glaring at her. What Richt is doing it won't go well with his father as he is a supporter of peace between the 7 kingdoms. Riftan thought he was dreaming doing snu snu with Maxu until he woke up and saw it was all real. He is apart from Maxi he must have wet dreams doing it with her. As I’m re-reading UTOT, I came upon something princess agnes said that stuck to me this time around. On S1 part 4 she said, “Sir Riftan seems to be irrationally protective of you. Some might say as if he were trying to protect a six-year-old,” said the princess disapprovingly. To my understanding isn’t Riftan’s and maxi's age gap 6 years? Or roughly 6 yrs? Crmiiw, but in this scene isn’t maxi like 22 & Rif 28? So this would mean that Riftan still sees maxi as that lonely 6 years old little girl who captured his lonely 12 yr old heart. It baffles me that I just payed attention to this but the author did an amazing job in sneaking that Easter egg in there. I know it’s not new news or that big of a deal per se but I found it interesting how throughout the novel we are reminded of how strong Maximilian’s & Riftan’s soul ties are bound. Also, the attention to detail astounds me. I don’t have a particular example but it’s all over the story, on how “the wind” connects to the story . I believe it’s a symbol of the legend/tale about the oak tree nymph & the knight Rosem wigrew. How the nymph still tries to seek out the knight through lifetimes. I noticed the gust of wind is used to foreshadow an event, pertaining our ML’s- when mentioned in the book. Like if the wind were a guide of sorts. The spirit of the nymph helping maxi out in relation to Riftan, who is titled one of the 5 reincarnations of Rosem Wigrew. (Who imo is the only one who lives up to the title) I’m aware the author chose not to go anywhere with the myth of reincarnation but she tied up the loose ends exceptionally well.
Ciao! I used to be active in this forum at the end of last year, when the original novel wasn't finished yet but was about to end. The novel ended in fact in December 2022. On Ridibooks, the Korean website where it is published, it has a total of 450 chapters. The author said there will be a couple of side stories but we're still waiting for them.
Hey y’all! I have a question…. Did maxi conceive while on the ship heading to Levan , or when she got caught by Riftan in the Eth Lene camp? In my opinion, I think she was already pregnant. Most likely on her first trimester (which usually is the most risky term) or the start of the 2nd one . I say this because when she had sexual Intercourse with Riftan, she experienced an unusual -strange feeling of pain. Rif dismissed it on it being a while, but I think it was Bc for some women penetration hurts or feels different while pregnant. So In conclusion I think they conceive while in the ship. I know pregnancy is different for every women, so some might not show a bump yet. The timeline is a bit murky for me to tell how far along she would’ve been. What I know is a few months passed until she snuck on with the female clerics. Maybe between 3-5 months ? What do y’all think?
I believe she must have conceived when she and Riftan did it in the rain. She couldn't conceive, Riftan caught her in the Ethelene camp as she was already pregnant, she does it with Riftan, she is feels pain and that must mean she has been a couple months pregnant.

Like a silk thread that leads through history and like a web that brings everything together. By pregnancy I mean it must have been in the early stages and the time on the ship to Livadon would have been approximately fit. I also think that Maxi often had pain during sex, simply because she is very delicate (and small built) and Riftan is, well, pretty "tall". In addition, he is not necessarily the most tender lover, but rather the "daredevil" when it comes to sex.
I think you’re right. They did it twice during the rain scene, after that the next day they reached the port. While the ship was being prepared, Maxi & the knights stayed at the inn for the night. Maxi & Riftan made love again before boarding the ship the next day. So timeline wise it’s a high probability that she conceived in the rain scene. Her pregnancy symptoms might’ve been confused with sea sickness. Anyways she had gotten her period regularly while in anatol and she got healthier too. So it wouldn’t be surprising if she got pregnant during that 1 month long campaign to livadon. I like that analogy! “ like a web that brings everything together”. Hahahah yeah Riftan can’t control himself whenever maxi is around. He can try to be gentle but that feral side of his wins all the time. Maxi also was feeling nauseated & sick in her stay at the basilica. She probably thought that it was the anxiety & worry making her ill. But I think it was a combination of both.
Re-reading S1 part 5 is torture This line: “L-Let me go,” Maxi cried. “You have to… let me go” Reminds me so much of a line from the show Shameless, eerily similar to what maxi pleaded to Riftan. It was Fiona Gallagher’s line : “You have to let me go. You have to let me let you go. I need you to do that for me.” I know the context is different but those lines are so uncanny to each other. It’s gut wrenching when you know the misery both maxi & Riftan will endure for the next 3 years. If not for maxi’s resolve , they would’ve destroyed each other in the name of love. I found a parallel when Riftan begs for the last time for maxi not to leave him , disclosing what happened to his mother - to Edward Cullen from twilight being desperately angry at Bella for continuing with her pregnancy knowing it will kill her. Edward says something like “you decided this on your own ,you decided to leave me.” Bella’s like “don’t see it that way”, Edward then says “well I have no other way of seeing it, cause it’s me who’s losing you. And I don’t choose that ..” Riftan says something similar “ don’t think you’re leaving for my sake ,I never wanted this.You’re leaving for you.” As we readers know , he has been yearning and longing for her since he was 12. Maxi didn’t know or forgot about his existence while he lived with the arduous pain of wanting her for years. It only escalated when they got married and he had to leave her for 3 years after having beheld the object of all his desires for one night. I can only imagine the magnitude of his despair at the end of volume 1. Maxi suffers as well in her own right but not quite at the point that Riftan does. Riftan has that advantage over maxi that he knows what he wants (which is her). Maxi didn’t get the opportunity to even know what it was she wanted until she married Riftan and experienced the hardships of war and loss. That’s what we’re all seeing in volume 2. Which is maxi pursuing an education & gaining experience to what it entails to be an official mage. Bella and maxi both went through with their decisions, at the end of the day they chose what they thought was best for them atm. Granted it’s a whole different story and the context is not the same but it’s a great comparison. At least in my opinion.

I think so because after being caught by Riftan and going with Agnes to get a dress she noticed a change in her body something along the lines of the dress being tighter around her stomach ima hunt it down to be sure....ok maybe I mistook this but I found.......(but the Princesses’ pants were too long for her and too tight for her hips that in the slightest movement, it might rip. She became infinitely depressed, feeling like a duck with her short legs and wide hips. Her shoulders drooped as she looked at the princess’ slender deer-like figure with envy.)

She is curious to know what are the tents for? Elliot was riding beside her and was acting uncomfortable in his saddle and that they are communal baths. Elliot was embarrassed once he said it, but it isn't the baths that Maxi might be imagining. Riftan loves treating Maxi as a queen and Maxi always gets embarrassed by it, um Maxi Riftan always does aftercare after making love because he cares and loves you and stop being embarrassed by it and accept his aftercare. Riftan is really concern of getting you pregnant and doesn’t want to repeat the incident of Ethelene again as he almost lost and he blames himself for getting you pregnant. Maxi believe she hard time conceiving as she thought she had the same problem as her mom and after her and Riftan slept so many times she could've get pregnant. She believes she won't conceive anytime soon, maybe because she still believes she has the same condition as her mom. If she ever has any changes in her body, Riftan wants to Maxi to tell her. Maxi is better to conceive both are in peace with no chaos and Riftan doesn't have to be far away from you. If she ever gets pregnant again it would be nerve racking and happy at the same time. She can see Riftan with constant worry even she has a child in her arms. If Riftan were to have a daughter he would constant worry. Maxi still feels pain about her unborn child and she had an image of an infant child but then wiped out. Maxi imagining having a child it never reveals what gender she wants but the webtoon is drawn as she wants a son. In her imagination of having a child it could be any gender, boy or girl. Now we have Richt POV. He wants to take all the credit and can't help the coalition army succeeding, he wanted his way and Maxi succeeded in her mission and that must have upsetted Richt. He really wants to go against the peace treaty where as his father is the supported of the peace treat. He only cares about war as he wants to go back to the era of the Roemian empire. He can’t stand a mixed race from a low background is the leader of the coalition army. Richt has the plans in mind what would happen with those lands are fighting each other and Balto and Arex were together to advance above as they secretly agreed. Richt still has those lines in his memory of Maxi telling him he would never surpass Riftan and those lines is going to be foreshadowing later in the book. Richt imagines beheading Riftan and sent his headless head to Maxi and give Maxi as tribute to his king, Richt wants Maxi be the kings wife or concubine. In your dreams that will happen as Maxi will listen and follow you and Riftan is unbeatable is why he has the title incarnation of Rosem Wigrew. If Riftan were to die Maxi would be in a monastery and become a priestess or nun and wouldn't follow you to Balto even you force her to take her she would run away from you as she know to be reckless. Richt only cares for war and hates peace different what his father believes in. The communal bath that Maxi witness might be public bath or a brothel, the way Elliot said shamefully as he was embarrassed. So Richt said he doubt it won't happen in your lifetime is he talking about Maxi? And if it doesn't happen in her lifetime he must be talking about the future or descendants that want to revive the Roemian empire. Riftan won't even let it happen as he wants peace and for the descendants in the future to live in peace. All what Richt wants war and Riftan wants peace, he has seen in his own that war can cause pain, suffering and misery.
Re-reading UTOT, In S2 part 1 a scene caught my eye. Spoiler: We Came Full Circle It was while on their expedition to the Pamela plateau, where they encountered a Serpend (which is one of the highest-grade monsters of the dragon subspecies). The serpend was about to spew fire when maxi sprang into action and was scrambling to throw a barrier when Riftan blocked her path and charged at the monster. Riftan leaped straight to the serpends mouth , that’s when his blade flared a dark red. He snuffed the flames and then he decapitated it. Although having heard the story before, Maxi could not believe she had witnessed first hand a slight demonstration of how her hubby had rushed head-on into dragons breath. Rif did it to protect our girl!!!! We have come full circle!!! Obviously this time it was nothing in comparison to Sektor’s power , at that time he slayed the dragon in a very reckless maneuver so that he could go back to maxi & finally get to know her as husband and wife Wow I don’t know if it’s just me reading too much into it and seeing things that are not there but I sense Sir Kuahel is irritated at Riftan for ignoring maxi in the beginning of their expedition. (Ahhh Kuahel is just like us!lol) Spoiler: A theory… I say this because, for example: “Riftan knew that, unlike his facade of indifference, the Temple Knight commander was a belligerent and prideful man. For some reason, he seemed especially sensitive to every word today, and it was beginning to get on Riftan’s nerves.” The scene above happened after the pine cone incident. Maxi got fed up and threw Forest debris at Riftan for being a “petty man, a narrow minded clod,an idiot,etc”. Basically for being indifferent to her and avoidant. As they were causing a scene Rif took her away,had an emotional (partial) confession and make out session. Interrupted by monsters they had to leave unsatisfied. They then encounter the temple knight’s commander and he jokingly said he apologized for the interruption but that they had to leave. All that being said I think Kuahel knows what a fascinating rare jewel of a women Maximilian is , and finds Riftan to be ungrateful or undeserving of her. Sir Leon Kuahel remembers how maxi entrusted him to deliver her hubby a letter , & her sneaking into the war with the female clerics . All this effort just to be closer to Riftan and to know he is safe. The TK commander isn’t stupid , he discerned that maxi may have joined the dangerous expedition to reunite with her husband. In other scenes further down volume 2, Kuahel unwittingly helps maxi make Riftan jealous. Sometimes he does it on purpose just to provoke Riftan. He’s well aware that Maximilian is Riftan’s only vulnerability. So his witty remarks are centered on that.
You definitely got it right!. The changes in her body were a dead giveaway. Because with the arduous tasks of being in the support unit, she lost a lot of weight and gained muscle. So it was a tell sign she was preggo when her hips got wider . That outcome didn’t even cross her mind bc she thought it would take a while to conceive due to having spent a year with Riftan with no sign of a child yet. Also adding the struggle her mother suffered getting pregnant and miscarrying, maxi thought that would be her fate as well. In volume 2, we see that Riftan is now taking precautions on not getting her with child. He asks of her to tell him whenever she notices any changes to her body. Although I want to see how maxi traverses motherhood and everything that entails , I really really just want to read/know more about their life as a couple back home In sweet Anatol. Like just the two of them, day in the life , in good and bad days , having alone time, no wars in the horizon, their shenanigans with the knights & mages. Also I want more spring festival moments between them. All of this before having children. If the author wishes for them to have some.
Oh yeah book 2 he pulled out think one time he didn't because he was asleep i would also love to see more if their peaceful times as much as I would love a mini them running around Riftan is stubborn when he's set on something after seeing her blood loss ftom the miscarriage he's too afraid so I can't see them having any
