For couples a weeks I haven't writing in detail reviews, I am thinking that I might stop writing reviews if it gets more inactive. I used to write detailed reviews but I don't want to feel like I am plaragizing the book and sometimes I gets writer block and when I write the review of the chapter what I remember, I tend do it out of order. Sometimes I am just tired.

It is clear that Licht has long thought that peace agreements would be broken. You can see it by using prisoners as shields in wars to minimize the loss of troops in his country. His father laid the groundwork for what is now a peace treaty he is a hero in balto. Even the king of Balto can't do anything about him. The king of Balto and Licht are opponents of a peace treaty. But the presence of Licht's father cracked their p lans.

Hey y’all! For the holidays I went to a place with low signal, thus it has hindered me in accessing internet. I wanted to wish y’all a happy New Year! And hoped y’all had a very merry Christmas!!! I just got done with UTOT S2 part 4. Without a doubt , all the lovely moments with Riftan and maxi melted my heart. Breston is great at being an audacious, conniving villain that it makes me like his character solely on how exceptionally well he was written. Also, it might just be that minuscule power hungry side of me hahah but I almost wished maxi would’ve inherited the duchy. I know I know, she doesn’t care for it nor want to fight her sister or the wedonian royals for it either. But that part of me wanted maxi to keep it and in a future bequeathed it to her second born child. It would’ve just added to Riftan and maxis wealth. At the same time I think it might be best for Rosseta’s second child to have it. It closes a chapter for maxi once and for all (once the Duke dies) and she rids herself of any thread or reminder connecting her to her father. It goes without saying that maxi just wants to live a tranquil life alongside Riftan in sweet ol’ Anatol. For some reason (maybe in another fictional life) I wanted maxi to be every inch of the Roemian princess that she would’ve been, having married the truest reincarnation of wigrew that imo is the only one who perfectly lives up to the title, who lives in one of the wealthiest thriving places in the continent, who alone has a very distinguished list of accomplishments as a mage, who’s husband is the most handsome- strong- lovely & cleverest man known in the world. The list goes on and on. You get my point. I love how the author went about the whole novel. I have no complaints, but one. Which as we all know, we would’ve liked the story not to have a rushed ending. I await the authors side stories whenever they might come )
Dear SinFulHun, I think each of us has one or the other scene in our heads differently. But even though I disliked the novel's "quick" ending last year, I now have to admit that I fully support KSj's decision to have it end like that. She gave us so many adventures and moments of love and told her story with exciting, loving words that I am completely satisfied. Because I know one thing now, you have to read the original story if you don't want to miss anything and understand everything, everything else is only half the fun.
We can’t do anything about how the story is told since we are not the authors of it. I’m quite content with it. In fact, I don’t dislike the ending at all, it just felt incomplete. Like gaps missing. That’s just my opinion Be that as it may, as admirers of Suji Kim’s work we have to support her choice in potentially continuing with Maximilian & Riftan’s tale with future side stories. To “fill in the blanks” on the continuation of this great novel. Although, she may very well leave it up to interpretation on how the Calypse’s are doing. Either way, she left us all a great treasure, that is our beloved Under The Oak Tree novel. As you said, “ everything else is only half the fun.”
I agree with you and understand your disappointment about the "short" ending, as you say. That's how I felt at first, but I only knew part of the story. Today I'm fine with the ending because the two main protagonists of the story seem so familiar to me that I can very well imagine the loving future of them both. AND we will soon be able to read the entire ending in the original, thanks Amazon And you are right, this story is a treasure that KSj left us.
Spoiler: Spoiler/thoughts of 170 Finally the coalition army drew back the monsters with the help of the Balto Southern confederacy. Maxi almost fell from the horse she was riding as the wyvern was on circling around on top of them and Elliot took his sword but someone strikes the wyvern and to her surprise it was Ulyeson. Ulyeson and Garrow completed their mission to send a message to Balto. Riftan instructed to send the message to the Southern nobles to help them in the war as these Southern nobles in Balto are against the royal family. Riftan really persuaded them and they accepted. Maxi questioning if Geyhart is really with the peace agreement. Maxi if you knew he is really loyal to the peace agreement and he is unlike his son. Maxi see the causalities of war, many soliders were fallen and were buried under the snow but as she is always worried of Riftan is okay, they needed her to aid the injured soliders. Maxi did help alot in this war, if it wasn't for her, the causalities would been worse than it already is. Now this battle is over and the the goal in mind of the coalition army is too thwart the revival of the dragon Sektor.

She goes to the outskirts of the city and see some soldiers huddled around the fire and ask them if they know where is Riftan? Around the men were sitting down it was Gabel. Gabel has been doing the administrative work and he wonders if he is more a knight or an administrator. He was in Balto to tense the dispute between the trade and along the way he met Ulyeson and Garrow. He rather be doing his work as a knight than administering Anatol. Maxi in defending Riftan that couldn't do anything and had to go immediately to do her mission in the Pamela Plateau. Maxi she can tell by Gabel voice that she could've been close to some of the men who were among the dead. She changes the topic and is searching for Riftan, Gabel tells her that he is camping in the outskirts of the city if any monsters were to come. Maxi goes up to a watchtower and see where is Riftan and can't find him but then Riftan finds her first. Riftan and Maxi are sitting down as there private conversation wasn't done and Riftan says Maxi full name with a deep voice. Maxi is nervous and trying to makes excuses but whatever she says it doesn't alleviate Riftan anger. Riftan questions who her superior and who she should listen to and why she infiltrated the city than protecting the rear unit? Maxi had no choice, he went with Kuahel to help stop the necromancer and he made Kuahel an oath to protect her. Maxi is angry and gets up from her character and pounds Riftan back and that Kuahel can see her as a capable mage and she is better at spell than of Ruth and that he is belitting her abilities as a mage. While both arguing Maxi see the landscape of the weather changing and the Riftan runs to the window to see outside and then a loud voice came that screeched her ears. The words resonated in her ears of what the monster said that you are too late. Now the dragon got revived and Riftan will have to go to battle while both are angry and it isn't good is better to resolve before having any regrets but as the dragon got revived, Riftan has to go immediately. All what Maxi wants Riftan to be proud of her than judge her, and Kuahel can see through her as a capable mage than just a noblewoman. Riftan can see through her is he just doesn't know how to express it. Maxi really needs to learn to control her anger. Riftan really sounded jealous both were having there talk and Maxi needs to see that Riftan and Kuahel don't very well along. Riftan didn't took it well on how she was expressing about Kuahel protecting her. Maxi you really went out to help even if you didn’t had a choice. Riftan needs to see if you didn’t went out and help the outcome would been more castrtophe than already is.
Thanks for the summary Marsea! Riftan cant trust Kuahel but i think since beginning Kuahel been doing a great job protecting Maxi. Since 1st war in book 1 Kuahel has been protective to her. Until this chapter as well. Sometimes he acted like such a big bully to her like when they inspected the terrain of monster city before 2nd war, he moved around so fast that caused Maxi having difficulties to catch up with him but i believe his senses are always aware to her surroundings of any danger that could harm her. But i dont totally blame Riftan though he is not wrong when he said Maxi should follow his command and he has the right to have that kind of perception towards Kuahel - that it is the church’s fault that the dragon manastone is missing. I dont blame Maxi either because she just want to help to find the necromamcer so the monster can stop resurrecting. I mean they all should get along

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a good Christmas/Winter season. I know I've been M.I.A., but life has gotten so busy. I'll admit I had to take a break after that last novel I read. It really affected me emotionally. Also, I don't remember if I told y'all but I made a career change. After 12 years, I am no longer a scientist. It's been a new journey of learning for me going back to school online while juggling a new job. It takes up a lot of my time. My family is also growing, I have a new niece and nephew, so auntie time has increased. I was finally able to catch up with the webtoon amd novel this past week. Felt good to read about Rif and Maxi again. I missed them. They are in a good place right now in their relationship and they make me laugh. Over the Christmas break I saw this movie called the Rise of the Guardians for the first time. Lol, I know, it's an old Christmas movie, but idk why I never took the time to see if before. Anyways, the main Jack Frost character looked like Ruth with his white hair and pale skin. I kept thinking to myself if they made UTOT into a cgi series, that style would be perfect for Ruth. Can I just say I was a little disappointed with the period scene in the webtoon. They didn't do it right. The book scene was way better but that's just me. I know ksj is releasing a side story on Ursaline soon but any updates on the other side stories?
