I'm back to share another round of spoilers! This will be my last round since I was only interested in the divorce.

Spoiler: Divorce Settlement Part 1

• Liena orders her maid to bring Elliot (genius) to resolve the divorce proceedings with Farrell (lawyer). She wants to have Elliot and Farrell combine their expertise to delay the trial result.
  
• Liena speaks with Leheim (brother) before meeting Ethel with Duke Cassius. Leandro has been avoiding his family and lawyer due to the humiliation. Farrell and Liena are frustrated with Leandro due to not sharing important information before the trial.
• Leheim questions if the divorce trial should continue due to the relationship between Leandro and Ethel. Liena argues that Ethel is family and Leheim apologizes. They question why Kayden (head butler) betrayed the Cassius family.
• Ethel and Kayden meet Duke Cassius and he accuses her of jeopardizing the honor of Leandro. Ehtel responds she was truthful and Liena intervenes. Duke Cassius ask Kayden why he betrayed the family. Kayden ask Duke Cassius if he remembers Joshua (son). Duke Cassius avoids Kayden's question while Liena shares she remember meeting Joshua.
• Liena ask Kayden if Joshua is the reason for Kayden's departure. She states she will help Joshua and visit him in the hospital. Kayden shares that neither Duke Cassius or Liena remember the incident. Kayden shares how Duke Cassius threatened and terrified Joshua. Duke Cassius ask why he should be blamed for Joshua's sickness. He insults Joshua and Liena tries to stop Duke Cassius.
• Ethel intervenes and ask Duke Cassius if he won't regret what he stated. Duke Cassius confirms there is no regret and Kayden expected this reaction from him. Ethel announces the trial should end now.

I'll share the second part soon and that Duke Cassius is horrible.

 

The butler of the house served the duke for years and practically watched him grow up, and he didn't even care when it was the cause of the butler's son getting sick...what a disgusting man my god he saw in an innocent act from one child to another something improper and pointed a SWORD at a little boy. I hope everything he did comes out in the open, you crazy bastard!

 

It's actually worst than the summarized bullets.

The Duke Cassius demanded to know the reason for Kayden's betrayal after Joshua was mentioned. He had no interest in listening about Joshua while Liena calmed him down. Liena only remembered meeting Joshua, but not Duke Cassius threatening him with his sword. Liena wonders why Kayden didn't ask the Cassius family for support since their employees are treated fairly well. Liena is only being kind to Kayden to cancel the divorce trial and result. She thinks that Kayden will return because he holds affection for her ... like everyone else.

Then Kayden shares that Duke Cassius and Liena consider the past incident with Joshua as unimportant. He even states that Leandro would have been the same as his father. Liena slowly remembers the incident and ask Kayden if it hurt Joshua since there was no physical injury. Duke Cassius ask if the incident with Joshua was the reason for Kayden's betrayal — he thinks it was insignificant. He states that he shouldn't be blamed for Joshua being weak since he was sword training when he was Joshua's age.

That Duke Cassius doesn't take mental health and anxiety seriously.

 

Honestly, I'm disgusted by him diminishing a young man's psychological pain just because he used to lift swords. The typical speech we hear from some cretins when we want to talk about some unpleasant situation, like "you think this is bad, but at your age I was doing this and that". He doesn't care that he, a grown man, threatened a little child who wasn't even 7 years old with a sword. Disgusting... it destroyed Joshua's psyche and even prevented him from pursuing his true talent, which was sculpting. One day or another his true face will fall, I just wait and see.

Honestly duke and his insensitive ass can go to hell, he traumatized a child for life and think he can away with it…

Spoiler: Divorce Settlement Part 2

• Duke Cassius is surprised by Ethel's divorce announcement. He mocks Ethel and states that the Cassius family will be persistent about the divorce trial to pressure her to stop. Liena provided him guidance to lead this discussion. Ethel remains calm and states that Leandro's reputation will deteriorate more if the trial continues. Duke Cassius states that his reputation will improve with time and Ethel continues with the divorce settlement. Ethel announces that Duke Cassius has the ability to approve of the divorce without Leandro's consent.
  
• Ethel shares that Duke Cassius refuses to admit his mistakes about her marriage and actions towards Joshua (Kayden's son). He tells her to shut her mouth, but she continues to share that Duke Cassius abandoned Kayden (head butler) first. He tells her to shut her mouth again while hitting the table. Me: This mofo ... how dare you speak to Ethel like that. You dead to me!
• Liena watches their argument and states that Ethel is using the wrong method of persuasion. Ethel responds that she will provide Duke Cassius a gift in return for her divorce settlement. He mocks Ethel that a gift from Liena is more precious than her gift and laughs. Ethel announces that she will not provide the time capsule from Duchess Cassius (his wife). Duke Cassius stops laughing and Ethel shares she found the location of the time capsule.
• Duke Cassius has been searching for the time capsule for years. He loved his wife and refused to remarry and adopted Liena instead. He explored all gardens, lakes, mansions, residences and territories she visited before her passing. Me: Liena actually found the time capsule years later when she was married to Mikhail (crown prince). Ethel is like, me take it instead. She slays.
• Ethel shares she solved the clue from Duchess Cassius's riddle. Liena is surprised since she hired experts to decipher the riddle. Duke Cassius ask if Ethel is deceiving him. She refuses his accusation since she is aware he would murder her is she deceived him. She states that Duke Cassius was not interested in her gift and starts preparing to leave.

Spoiler: About Duchess Cassius

• Her name is Cheryl Cassius. She was playful and enjoyed meeting people. She was an illegitimate daughter of another noble family. She married Duke Cassius because they were in love.
• She passed away from an illness 17 years ago. She told Duke Cassius to search for the time capsule before her passing. She placed letters and objects for her current and future family in the time capsule.
• She had long silver hair that was similar to Liena's hair, which is one reason why she was adopted by Duke Cassius. Me: There is another reason why …

The truth is that the Duke is a very awful person to begin with. Leandro is a coward with potential redeem quality but the Duke? Heck no

Spoiler: Divorce Settlement Part 3

• Duke Cassius orders Ethel to not leave and she asks him is that an order. Ethel states she is not required to follow his order and Liena asks Duke Cassius to allow Ethel to leave. Duke Cassius refuses and Liena asks Ethel how she solved the riddle. Ethel shares that she is being treated as a liar. Me: Liena insinuates that Ethel is a liar and questions her motives. Ethel actually knew the location of the time capsule and didn't share to follow the flow of the novel.
• Duke Cassius asks if Ethel is deceiving him again. Liena intervenes but Duke Cassius begs Ethel to share the location of the time capsule. He apologizes to Ethel while trembling and she accepts even though it's insincere. Ethel asks a servant to provide her a pen and hands Duke Cassius an agreement that was prepared by Sharon. Duke Cassius states he will keep his word, but Ethel prefers to be legally protected.
• Duke Cassius signs the agreement and calls for Farrell (lawyer) to notarize it. Ethel begins writing the riddle on paper and Leheim claims he doesn't understand it. Ethel starts deciphering the riddle while Liena and Duke Cassius confirm her questions about Duchess Cassius's interests. Leandro appears to have a discussion with Ethel and learn about the location of the time capsule.
• Ethel continues deciphering the riddle and Leheim contradicts her. Duke Cassius orders Leheim to be respectful and he apologizes immediately. Me: Duke Cassius would have "destroyed" his son if Ethel left without sharing the time capsule location because of his rudeness.
  
• Ethel walks towards a statue that resembles Duchess Cassius and starts tapping it. Liena asks if it's hollow inside the statue. Ethel asks Duke Cassius when he received the statue and riddle, he confirms it was both 17 years ago. Duke Cassius starts shaking the statue and calls for experts to remove Duchess Cassius's letters and objects without damaging the statue. There was a knitted scarf and letters for her husband and sons.
• Ethel drinks tea and Liena seems uncomfortable. Duchess Cassius wrote caring words that Duke Cassius wouldn't become his father. She also wrote about the birth of Joshua (Kayden's son) and how afraid Duke Cassius was to hold him due to being born prematurely. Duke Cassius stiffens while Leandro and Leheim are crying reading their letters.
• Duke Cassius bows and shares his gratitude to Ethel. He approaches Kayden and Ethel leaves to provide them privacy to have a conversation. Ethel schedules to meet Duke Cassius at the town hall to finalize the divorce the following day.

Spoiler: About Duke Cassius’s Father

• He was a capable lord, but considered his people as objects.
  
• He would use and sacrifice people for his benefit in his territories.
  
• Duchess Cassius wrote that present Duke Cassius would not become his father because he would not hurt powerless people. Me: That's why Ethel asked Duke Cassius if he would not regret his mistake with Kayden and Joshua. She knew what his letter contained.

I've been reading the webtoon before the novel. The webtoon pacing is faster since the novel includes more details.

I'm adding the last spoiler for the divorce settlement. This will be my last round of spoilers, but I'll share additional information about the imperial family soon.

Spoiler: Divorce Settlement Part 4

• Ethel meets Duke Cassius at the town hall to meet the clerk. Duke Cassius speaks about Kayden (head butler) and asked to apologize to Joshua directly. Kayden declined his request since he will ask Joshua first. Duke Cassius expresses his disappointment about himself and Leandro.
• Ethel orders Duke Cassius to sign the agreement since she's not interested in listening to his disappointments. The clerk receives the signed agreement and confirms the divorce will be completed once the emperor and temple approves.
• Duke Cassius shares Leandro refused to divorce and Liena begged to cancel the divorce. He's confused by their obsessive refusal of Ethel divorcing and leaving the Cassius family. Ethel responds that she appreciates Duke Cassius for not accepting Liena's demand. Ethel confirms that Duke Cassius never cared for her and called her Ethel Cassius. Ethel asks Duke Cassius to be considerate to new family members and departs. Me: Duke Cassius called her Ethel Wallace throughout her marriage with his son. She was not family to him ... this mofo.
• Leandro visits Ethel and Terence meets Ethel in the future. Terence shares that the emperor and temple have confirmed the divorce. Ethel is officially single and Terence is excited. Me: Now kiss ... haha.

Spoiler: Divorce Conversation

• Leandro visits Diana's (ambassador's daughter) residence since Ethel accepted her offer to reside there before leaving the empire. Leandro hopes to convince Ethel to cancel the divorce since it's hasn't been approved by the emperor and temple. Leandro responds he loves Ethel and she questions about his treatment towards her during their marriage.
• Leandro explains he fell in love with Ethel when she healed his hand at the Wallace residence. He shares he felt repulsed on their wedding night and avoided her afterwards. Ethel confronts Leandro that he married her because she resembles Liena. Me: Leando felt it was sinful to sleep with Ethel.
  
• Ethel describes that she healed his hand in a similar approach as Liena when he was a child. Leandro started caring for Liena and accepted her as family afterwards. Ethel explains she was a substitute for Liena and Leandro denies her claims. Ethel states he always lies and leaves. Me: It's unfortunate that Ethel was unable to testify about Leandro's feelings towards his sister in court. He should never remarry.
