I want to buy an e-ink reader for browsing to help my eyes. My choice is onyx book tab mini c. It just so happens that a friend of mine will be going on a trip to China, so I thought that maybe in the country where it's made it's going to be cheaper? So, people from China here, can you look it up in an online store and quote price please? PS: I'd do it myself but I honestly have no idea how most chinese sites like alibaba or taobao work and they all require registration to even browse - which is a huge hurdle.
I have a e-ink tablet from hi-sense, the hi-sense touch. It's amazing. But NU contrast sucks, and most novel prefer dark themes. But then reading from epub is amazing.... The price use to be 1500 yuan brand new. But hisense stopped making e-ink so the price for second hand skyrocketed.
It's not colored ink, as I get it? Wha- I just recently was looking at their hisense a7 colored smartphone. Damn
No, it's back and white, I don't have any problem with black and white, other than the cover image in Mangadex, honestly and Novel updates. This is novel Updates default themes. The other two are much worst. The A7 is better as it can scan QR code and it have a SIM card, which didn't need hot-spot if you are reading while travelling. For hi-sense Touch it have a full metal body, as there is no need for the signaling for the cellar. have been posting this issues to Suggestions & Bug Reports, the mods on this forums just don't care. Also many translations sites like dark theme, which is annoying. in China, electronic can be confusing. I mean it's like another world, of tech. E-Ink tablet can cost from 1k-6k yuan, even the Operating system can range from normal android, to heavily modify android to custom Linux (because Android push notifications can be annoying and distracting.).
I meant the one I am aiming for, onyx book tab mini c. It costs around 560$ iirc where I live, and I tried looking it up on taobao and alibaba but I couldn't get past the mandatory registration (wtf do I need to register to browse, this is just argh) I wonder if it costs less in China since it is the country where the tablet is manufactured and there probably is not going to be the logistics price in the equation. But I dunno. I actually already have an e-book and it runs Linux. I was quite torn between it and another one that ran android back when I was buying. I used to watch yt excessively when I was buying it (nowadays I basically don't watch it at all), so I did not even consider browsing with e-ink devices.
It cost 4390 yuan in Tmall, Tmall tends to cost a bit more than Taobao. for the boox tab 10C pro it's slightly cheaper if you look at official boox pages. Also get a proxy or pre-download your Epub before china, NU isn't exactly Accessible in China. Well, it's not blocked, but it took like 2 to 3 minute to load a single page.
