Please recommend, comic only, your top one or two (no more than that, please!) intellectual MLs. I’m talking your grand mages or your scheming politicians or professors or research fanatics (edit: or genius detectives)—the ones who use their brains to get through problems. No swords. No abs (I wish, but that might not exist). No swords. Green flags preferred, manipulators of their lovers not wanted. Glasses are . No swords. Female MC or BL only. No swords! I was reading “Brother Knows Best” and came across Spoiler: this guy and was like, “why the hell can’t we have an ML who looks like that.” The monocle, the air of intelligentsia, that his hair isn’t black and his eyes aren’t red (although that’s true of the actual ML in that series as well)… sign me up! I still haven’t gotten through all my recs for green flag MLs from my last thread, but I hunger for intellectual MLs. Are we recommending you as a snack to eat or something? *Goes to look at my lists* Yep nearly everything akin to the webtoon variety on my list has swords in it... 'Surviving the Game as a Barbarian' has swords and abs.... but the main character is an expert at the game but he only gets one life considering he transmigrated into it. Honestly the fact that the game has something to Pathfinder's Fleshcrafting Poison in Essence is just fun in terms of potential builds characters have to do to live. Also the main character's main preference of a weapon is the shield. 'Cleric of Decay' has swords and abs.... but the main character is actually a cleric that serves a deity and is all about helping his goddess reclaim her powers, he more or less uses something that isn't a sword yet is one but considering that he has a swordmaster... it has swords. 'The Dungeon Cleaning Life of a Once Genius Hunter' kind of says it all but he doesn't really use swords but one of his minions does. 'The Ember Knight' is obviously about knights and has swords.... but Nags has to use his mind to get out of situations.
When I say “no swords,” I mean the ML shouldn’t use a sword. Anyone else is fine. So are these all BL?
Woman. Remember I don't do BL... I just threw suggestions out there. Also when you say BL it's going to obviously have "swords" in it about the alliteration of it being the penis.
I asked because I thought you didn’t do BL, but all your suggestions had male MCs, so I thought I might be wrong and you’d turned a new leaf? *shrug* As long as he’s solving problems with his brain and isn’t the greatest sword master the land has ever seen, that’s fine? I want fighting with the brain.
Q.E.D. leans more towards solving. C.M.B. leans more towards knowledge of things providing the solution. Both are by the same author. They'd count under "professors, research fanatics or detectives". PS (the acronyms are the full titles)
The mangaupdates’ description says that the romance is a subplot. Would you say that’s accurate? I was hoping for more front and center romance with a hot, brainy ML…
