A recently finished korean webnovel, Artifact Reading Inspector, has quite a few auction scenes. It takes a look at the world of valuable art trade and forgeries, mixing it with some supernatural elements. The ending is rushed, but the events before that are interesting. Another novel that comes to mind, The Silly Alchemist. The main character is obsessed with being a prodigal son, and one of his favorite ways of losing money is splashing cash at auctions.
