I am tired of relationships in books with characters being possessive and controlling. I am looking for books where the two lovers just know how to laugh together and enjoy each others company. Some examples of this are Miss Not So Sidekick, The Way of the Househusband, Becoming Popular Through The “All Villains” Variety Show, and Ending Maker. I don't care if its BL, GL, or BG. I just want a fun and cute relationship without drama.
Rebirth on the Doors to the Civil Affairs Bureau - I love this one! One of my first romance CNs and I'm happy it didn't have the possessive ML cliche. The Female Supporting Character Just Wants To Live A Good Life - This one's cute and sweet too, but its plot is a little bland. I still enjoyed it.
well, here's a few you might enjoy?? they're not absolute pure fluffs, there's conflict and drama here and there, but they're mostly not between the leads. if it is, it does not drag. BG Small and Soft Girl A and Overbearing President Man O - If you don't mind ABO, this is an absolute delight of a loving, sugary sweet relationship. It plays on and criticizes all the typical violent and obsessive tropes that overtake this genre in a really cute way. The Crazy Killer Whale’s Favourite Penguin - This novel was the kind that, according to the tropes the characters fall into, had EVERY chance to fall into the typical obsessive love tropes. Instead, it directly swerves in the opposite direction and gives you an extremely agressive penguin lady who knows what she wants and doesn't even know the meaning of the word fear, making their relationship dynamic an absolute delight to read. HIGHLY recommend this one. BL A Million People Hate Him for Wanting to Leave - There's some drama, but it's never between the main couple, and most of the story is a fluffy and fun slice of life. The MC is a very goofy person, which is very amusing to watch. Let Me Ruffle Your Fur a Little - A novel completely unlike anything I've ever read. It's a genuinely respectful representation of a character with a mental disability that doesn't get magically healed or "better", and where the author doesn't perpetually infantilize them and act like just because they need more assistance, they don't have emotional needs and thoughts of their own. There's a bit of drama towards the end, but it gets fixed relatively fast. The Supporting Male Character Just Wants to Be a Tool Man - ML and MC start off in a relationship that is intrinsically unbalanced (due to financial circumstances) but these things actually do not affect their dynamic. They end up being a bickering couple that loves to tease each other from the very start, which is very fun to read. GL She is the Protagonist - There's an overarching plot with a lot of suspense, but the relationship between the two main characters is extremely fleshed out, gradual, human, and fun. I read this novel many years ago and Yu Rubing is still one of the novel characters I find most memorable and well-written.
