I went on a gaming spree these past few weeks. Elden Ring, Subnautica, Little Nightmares 2 and now I'm doing Outlast. ... I feel so creeped out. I've played games like resident evil or the last of us 1 & 2. I know they aren't full fledged horror game. But man, Outlast just really creeps me out in a very special way... and I'm enjoying it?! Maybe I'll try other horror games in the future like Amnesia. Oh, I like watching horror game playthroughs. But I'm kinda surprised I liked playing it.
I have played quite a few horror games and I still get scared when there is a sudden pop-up of a face on the screen.
I get more scared by the sudden blast of sounds! Outlast does it a lot when you'd being chased and suddenly the music turns ominous... hate that lol Like i know I'm a safe distance away but it doesn't feel like so!
I don't play horror games but I like it when others play it when they play I also get scared because I'm immersived into the game
I don’t play horror games. (The Room series or Glitch Games don’t count in my mind.*) I like watching the PlayStation Access and Oxbox crew’s Halloween streams, and even that got a little too intense for me last year. There was one game both of them played and I watched one stream first and it took me hours to calm down. Didn’t dare watch the other stream. Play myself? Not in this life. I don’t think I’ll have the chance to watch them this year. *They’re point and click puzzle games with a horror theme. They aren’t scary, though.
On a random side note, there is an Otome Game called "Amnesia: Memories", so I always get a bit confused when people talk about Amnesia as a horror game~
That would be soooooo baaaaaaaad!!!! >.< I'm glad that didn't happen to me when I bought it... *shivers*
While I don't get scared while playing horror games I do like the atmosphere a lot of these games create. Games such as Bloodborne and RE4 had dark atmospheres that could give the player chills, while games like Dead Space 1 & 2 + Silent Hill 1 & 2 were outright eerie.
