I've been playing a casual mini-game with myself for a couple of decades now. It's discovering music bands whose name has the "...ettes" suffix. Yeah, it's weird, but it's a nice surprise when I suddenly come across one. Of course, since the criteria is a suffix, it's hard to cheat by just googling for them. It's been several years since I last found one. But today, I don't even remember what I was doing when I noticed a video by the band The Surfrajettes. So I decided to ask you all: Do any of you know another music band whose name has the "...ettes" suffix? Here are the ones I know of so far. Although, I think I'm forgetting one of them right now. Starting with the new one: The Surfrajettes Dragonette Noisettes The Pipettes The Ravonettes And, of course, The Ettes https://youtu.be/hxFls0q6T78
Here are a few more. I searched on youtube. Hope this helps The Du-Ettes The Click-Ettes The Sham-Ettes Beatle-ettes the Yacht Rock-ettes Al Casey with K-C- Ettes https://youtu.be/baSdh-shWTo
There used to be a band at my school called “Mariaettes” (yes they spelt it like that) composed of three girls. None of them had “Maria” in their names.
OK. I've had a chance to listen to all of the groups you found, along with a few additional songs from each. Thanks again! I really should have expected that there would be a lot of oldies girl groups using the "...ettes" suffix because this naming convention was more widely used during that period. Speaking of which, while looking up their other songs, I came across yet another one: The Fondettes . Oy! This group's sound is so chaotic. I did have this other band as an honorable mention only because their name is similarly just nominally fit the criteria: Cigarettes After Sex
