Oh my god I’m genuinely awwed and impressed with these reference drawings. How do you go about drawing these? As someone who has tried…really tried to reference this kinda style, I always found it so hard because it felt like there was sooooo much details everywhere to focus on, and subconsciously I end up with just random lines instead of actually copying what I’m seeing. The hair especially always made me think I should just straight up give up.
Thank you for the compliment! I really appreciate it I mostly use a technique similar to the grid method but with a slight variation I place my squares wherever I think they will help me complete the drawing later on. I think this allows me to maintain some flexibility In addition, I sometimes try to visualize the ground plane, as well as the plane of the shoulders, etc while drawing I hope you find these tips helpful, I used an app to write this, so hopefully it makes sense Edit: As for the hair, I draw my lines in a way that interacts with other parts of the drawing, such as the eyes, shoulders, and so on
Oh my god I tried the grid method landscape, never tried it on people drawing wow, I’ve never thought of the method being used in variations like that, that’s so cool! Oh my god what you’re saying sounds like perspective, so advanced and yes absolutely, it’s definitely helpful, like finding a treasure map, finally I know the path to the treasure. The journey will take a while but at least I now have the map thank you! Was really helpful
