The protagonist of the Ridibooks modern fantasy web novel, "The Illusion Hunter of Another World." He is the first great magician from a binary star system called Alphauri. Tired of the life of going to work and working overtime 640 days a year without a break in his hometown, the protagonist completes the magic of "soul manipulation" and possesses the body of an Earthling, Kim Ki-ryeo.

Oh but he gets like S-class level powers/body around chapter 170ish I think, but his og body is stronger then S-class hunters so he like keeps getting stronger and stuff.

 

No matter how you see it, the characters and this story are all a bit messed up no?

Spoiler: Green Three-Eyed Alien

This story is similar in its method of luring people with comedy then switching to depressing stuff later on. Kinda similar to I'm Not That Kind Of Talent, just a bit more mellowed down.

Anyway, Kang Changho and Kim Kiryeo love-hate relationship is like a constant push and pull. That purple bastard is crazy smart compared to his appearance and actions, he's strong, smart, handsome, rich and a psychopath, no wonder he was voted 3rd place for being the character people want to marry the most... last trait not included.
(He also somehow managed to get 1st place for being the character people would most dislike marrying... No does that even make sense? It wasn't even by a few votes, the green eyed man won by a landslide...)
That aside, who beats another mans face all of a sudden after crashing and destroying a building to "Save" the man in question? Changho apparently... That man would be the first to rush to aid Kim Kiryeo, but also be the first to go beat him up... The amount of times he attempted to murder Kiryeo feels like a gazilion...

They all get a bit obsessed with Kiryeo, forming Hunter Kiryeo cults and yapping daily about him, I don't disagree (There is "misunderstanding" in the title after all). Though I can't help but stare at the ceiling whenever I think back to the time Changho said to Kiryeo that he should be grateful he didn't lock him up in a basement... Crazy guy. or the time Haseong's broke dungeon clearing records just to be acknowledged by Kiryeo. Then theres Esther, who out of the 3 Korean S-classes is the more sane one, who wouldn't want a sister who pays for all there shopping expenses? Though I think Jeong Haseong is the most obsessed with him, number 1 hunter and also number 1 Kim Kiryeo fan (Tied with Ahn Yoonseong). In fanarts he's often compared to dogs due to his personalities and actions, while MC is portrayed as a fox.


Then theres BEAST, can someone explain why Beast's demise was a bit anticlimactic to me? Clues on Identity was fed to us but the death felt so odd, after Hunter Morgan (BEAST) death everything seemed to go wacky. My brain fails to comprehend the story after Alien reveal.


Still one of my favorite stories, a story based more on world building and intelligence rather combat and you learn so much about the worlds in general. MC's development from an altruistic alien genius baby to somewhat human-like is very fun to read.
Then theirs Lemming (MC's original alien body name) and Kim Kiryeo who are both truly pitiful, Lemming's backstory is something else really... and Kim Kiryeo is a naturally good and kindhearted guy yet he suffers so much.
Mr. green alien was a main character since birth on Alpharui, a child carried the entire civilization at what age? 11 years old or less? In a way you can see the parallels between Kim Kiryeo and Lemming, both children who grew up orphans and then had to carry the weight of others. Though Lemming did it a bit crazily, and you can't quite tell whether the alien can be considered a hero or villain.

Conclusion, their all a bit insane including MC, each characters personality though is unique in a way that makes me enjoy reading it.
(Except for Seon Woo-yeon, Ms Civil servant is a character who still has all the screws in her head intact.)

Kang Chango’s behavior puts me on edge whenever MC meets up with him, uncertain if he’s going to randomly throw a punch or kick. I either love him when he saves MC or hate him when he throws a sarcastic remark, punch, or kick at MC. There’s no in-between. I’m genuinely curious how he ended up winning 3rd place in character people want to marry the most.



Personally, I felt Beast’s death was anticlimatic was because of the build up towards their character. Slayed Nukelabi, conquered many high level dungeons, killed many Hunters, and overwhelmingly beat up Jung Haseong.

The battle with MC could honestly be summarized in a few lines.
- MC gets physically beaten by Beast
- MC interrupts her one spatial attack skill with mana drain
- Beast then uses low level water magic stones to flood the cave
- MC one-hit K.O. Beast using Haseong’s legendary sword through some Alphauri coding

Beast barely used her skills on MC, there’s no majesty at all that befits her title and achievements.

Perhaps if MC had struggled against her skills more or if she had struggled against MC in someway before dying, her death wouldn’t have felt so lackluster?

 

Realllll, MC has really good luck and everything ToT. Every misunderstanding is so funny and the way it twists into something insanely bizarre is so mind twisting Lol.

 

Is there a discord for this novel?? I tried to see where I could read past chapter 350 but I'm not too familiar with korean sites aside from Kakao where you can read a free chapter ever couple hours (which sadly the novel is not on ) and I'm poor

 

I read on ridibooks, it’s one free rental chapter every day or paying to buy the chapter, pretty similar to kakao, I think u can log in as long as you have a naver account which idk if kakao relies on that. Besides that it’s a pretty easy process to get an account
