Spoiler There is No Counterattack From The Supporting Character/조연의 반격은 없다

I’ve been holding off reading this because of all the people saying the ml is trash and how he torments the female lead.
But I’ve read three volume and the fl is crazier than the ml. she was the one who made the ml crazy, so the person who he is, was made by fl. (Before she lost her memories, she killed someone precious to ml and threw their body in the trash)

Also, the ml never even touches her or abuse her.

 

Wowww what a twist who was this "precious person" of ML that MC killed? Are there any signs of them developing a proper relationship during the 3 volumes that you read? because, thinking about it now, having them paired is really toxic for both of the parties involved.

 

-She was a maid called Jane (I wouldn’t say she’s good because she was one of the crown prince’s people)
-there’s a lot of kissing scenes between them, but I’d say the romance starts after fl leaves the ml and goes to the imperial palace. (I still haven’t read the 4th and 5th volume. from what I know it’s focused on the romance)
- yeah, it’s toxic especially when it’s revealed that they torment each other for 12-15 timelines, and how the ml goes back to the past everytime the fl kills herself.

Also, the novel has 50 chapters / almost 2 volumes translated in NU and most of the spoiler I’ve said are covered there, so I really recommend you to read the novel.

Spoiler: It's quite sad reading this

so it's basically like reading two plots attached. The main heroine of the novel azmeira will proposes a contract marriage with ingord. Beside them is our fl Susan disguised as princess Beatrice playing role as ingord s lover. So now ml basically asks fl if he should do the contract marriage... WTF i don't like that...then the og fl asks Susan as her maid... another heartbreaking development..i don't like the situation in which Susan is in...it's more like suffering in ignorance

 

it seems like you’re in the beginning ch 20-40. Well, tbh the novel can be really dark, but it’ll get better so keep on reading if you’re still interested.

 

Any new spoilers, especially from novel 3 + ??

Just read the 4 available manhwa chapters. Staying just out of pure curiosity. Can someone give a detailed summary though of the events? Even with the general spoilers already mentioned above, the spoilers were honestly quite confusing.

So, what do we know currently
For 15 timelines, these two leads tormented each other, 12(?) of those headed by MC(?)
The cause/start of the rerun is MC dying (or rather, from the specific spoiler, killing herself)
MC has amnesia or lost her memories, memories such as being part of CPs men and killing an important person of ML which caused his insanity
MC has been asked to be a fake engagement(?) partner for ML at a ball hosted by a princess
For some reason, these two develop feelings for one another eventually

 

Spoiler: On characters

FL Agraine Carol - The original owner of the possessed body, Agraine Carol's family, 'Carol', is a founding marquis of the Grenferk Empire, which is the setting of the story. She was possessed about 3 years ago in the main story, and does not remember anything that happened before being possessed.

• She was not possessed by a book, but that she lost her memory and regressed. In the Carol Marquis family, people with the ability to see the future were born for generations, and in the Ingord Duke family, people with the ability to regress were born for generations. The oath that both families swore to offer these people with the ability to the palace was the title of the book, <The River Where the Sun Flows>.
• Agraine's father, the former Marquis Carol, offered a substitute to the palace with the intention of ending this tragedy, but it was discovered, and all of Carol's bloodline and family were destroyed, and Agraine, who was a person with the ability and a legitimate daughter, was taken to the palace as a living corpse.
• Agraine was imprisoned in the palace and became Wilhelm's dog, and was slowly ruined while suffering mental torture-like abuse, but even in the midst of all this, she dreamed of revenge and approached Ingord's 'regression ability' from her childhood, Lichten, who was also imprisoned in the castle. Lichten, who had been living in resignation while locked in the castle, rejects Agraine, but he sees the future by harming himself several times in front of him. He is disgusted with her, but eventually he is drawn to her. They build a relationship that is too subtle to be affectionate and too close to be disgusting, and then Agraine commits suicide in front of Lichtenstein, and the first regression succeeds. This is because the trigger for Ingord's regression ability is 'the strongest mental shock'. This is the story of the first round.
• After this first round, Agraine dies and Lichtenstein turns back time repeatedly. After the first round, Agraine's revenge sometimes fails and sometimes succeeds, and as the rounds pile up, the number of times Lichtenstein's rebellion succeeds and Agraine's revenge succeeds increases. However, Agraine commits suicide every time after taking revenge, and Lichtenstein keeps repeating regression to save Agraine. The main story starts when Lichtenstein, who has returned to time fifteen times, comes to pick up Agraine, whom he had erased his memories and sent to Triviace.

ML Lichten Ingold - He destroys the Tribiace family and brings Agraine, who was Tribiace's maid, to be his subordinate. It seems that he had been acquainted with Agraine Carol, the original owner of Agraine's body, before.

• He has regressed 14 times since the beginning of the main story, and is living his 15th life. He was the one who stole Agraine from the palace, erased his memories, and sent him to Triviace.
• In every life, he fell in love with Agraine, mixed with bittersweet love, and sometimes it was a passionate love, and sometimes it was a ruin, but in the end, it always ended with Agraine's suicide, and he started over again, over and over again.

Villain CP William Jonathan Regwin (He have a twin sister who was FL's friend.. she doesn't appear in the book)
He is described as the main character of the book <The River Where the Sun Flows> that Agraine possessed. He is Vivienne's twin brother and sister, and like her, he is blond and has red eyes. He was thought to be just an ordinary book character, but in Agraine's past memories, he is depicted as a madman who mentally abuses her and enjoys seeing her suffer.

• He is a pyscho decided to take revenge even if it meant sacrificing his whole life. In the past, he dragged Agraine here and threw her father's severed head at her, mocking her, and burning Carol Castle to the ground. After dragging her to the palace, he continued to abuse her in every way and tried to tame her like a dog.
• The reason he was so obsessed with Agraine despite his personality of not showing affection for objects or people was revealed in his monologue, and he babbled nonsense like, 'I thought it was beautiful how she would come back to life like a weed even if I trampled her every day.' (...) Although it is not described in detail, it seems that he used all kinds of mental abuse as well as physical means, and he said that he did not touch her sexually beyond kissing her because he was worried that she would commit suicide. As a result of the abuse, Agraine at the time of the main story is almost traumatized and has PTSD to the point where her body moves automatically even when she refuses orders in her head.

Kin that knight guy - who is loyal to ML he is actually related to FL, his real name is Keane Carol. He is Agraine's half-brother, and together with Agraine, he is the last surviving member of Carol.

Spoiler: Ending of main story

• Starts off with their kiss, ML gave her a deep kiss he then lifted her carefully and laid her on the bed, her beautiful red hairs spread on the white bedsheets which evoked unconcealable desire in his eyes, FL strokes his face gently asking him, was she like this in his dreams? 'No' he lowered his head & using his teeth & tongue untied the ribbon on her chest, when strings unstring their eyes met which made FL flustered, he untied rest of the knots without taking eyes off her face "softer... sweeter as if my body will melt".
• When her clothes fell FL pulled them since she couldn't take it anymore, but ML had no intentions of letting her go, he pulled her waist & told her to stop trying to escape if she don't want him to be rough. His breathing was strangely rough FL closes her eyes ML buries his face in her arms, they do the deed 'everything was just perfect'.
• Sun is up the next day, though it's just like ordinary day but something feels different then he looks at FL sleeping besides him covered with marks of the previous night, he gently strokes her messy hairs, covers her with thin blanket & leaves the bed, and gets dressed up.
• As he left the palace, he saw emperor sitting under red canopy, the emperor spotting him said " there were many women looking for you last night" ML greeted emperor emperor continued "I heard you were hanging out with a woman you caught late night, others were interest in your affairs" ML smiled faintly saying she was his woman to begin with so there was no need to be concerned about what others think ML continued saying he need emperor's time for a moment, and emperor said okay he'll send a servant.
• ML went to a temple preserved by royal family, there were coffins there he walked until he reached CP's coffin (he dead.....), it was his first time seeing his coffin. The red cloth wrapped around the coffin as to protect it from any misfortune, ML laughed "This is the most miserable death I have seen" ML picked up lily "No matter how strong the fragrance of flower is, it cannot hide your destruction" he buckled up the stem of lily flower watching the petals fall, the royal family was destroyed. It seems CPs twin sister also wanted revenge she was the last he killed.
• There is a bit on FLs half-brother Kin/Kean Caroll who might not be blood related but someone her father took on as a last straw, ML have been living for 100s of years even though CP tried to maintain his authority in all ways possible the oath of the river of sun was moving toward destruction regardless of FL seeing future or ML regressing, the three families would've perished. ML thinks that coffin is too luxurious for CP who is a trash & then he take a step back & leaves the temple.
• ML saw emperor sitting under the canopy thinking if there was twist of faith then it would've been CPs sister who would have ascended the throne not that trash, without FL he would've lived as a royal dog, and no matter what FL did she could not defeat CP he don't wanted to believe that but all the regressions were enough to make him conclude it.
• All his regressions were painful, but he learned to be patient to wait for the right opportunity to dig up FL, for her to choose him to put chains on her, to do all that he pushed FL to the brink of death so she choose herself, time to time he tested her, he was devastated every time he saw her fall helplessly because of CP & even worse when she lost to that trash, but then it happened FL chose him accepting her fate as if inevitable that Agrain Caroll cannot escape Lichten Ingord (ignore/ingore confusing me).
• ML went to the bedroom saw FL naked watching throw the bedroom window wrapping a thin blanket around her, he called her name & she looked at him her eyes were relived to see him as if confirming he returned, ML walked up to her and she hugged him her eyes full of love & affection for him, he kissed her on the cheek.
• ML said to her "you said time after revenge is hell" FL pushed him her face hardened there were many emotions on her face longing, happiness, regret, worry etc ML said it's okay Agraine let me walk through hell with you, now we'll be together forever FL said nothing she looked at him with reddened eye accepting a rose he gave her a single tear fell down her cheek it was very beautiful, a beautiful tear like a meteor streaking across the sky he held her she said 'yea definitely' everything was perfect, it couldn't have been more perfect.

I actually plan to not continue on reading this because I know for thefact that it will be dark but base on the spoilers the anxiety that I will get reading this is worth it, lol.

I haven't read the novel yet and only the manhua I don't know how they explain it in the novel but I think the manhwa did a good job in showing the ML emotion. In chapter 1 where they met and he hold her chin and lift it so they can see eye to eye, you can clearly see that his eye is full of conflicting emotions.

 

Are there any side story?

 

Great another trashy characters. God forbid Korean authors write decent ones.

 

HMMM fun, read the chapters of the manhwa that were out and seeing the spoilers here,
FL didnt have a chance the cards were stacked against her from the beginning yikes.

Though I dont think anything the ml here does is worse than Leon from Try Begging Me.(or that jerk from If You Wish for My Despair )
sure wiping FL's memories and burn the place he left her to the ground was overdoing it, and tormenting her daily is wrong but...

they are both nuts.

 

hello? anybody interested to delve deeper into the actual reasons the FL has to get so tortured? We cant change that she was tortured by the CP, cause he was never well-intended, but why does the ML have to follow suit? Did someone say to wake her primal survival instinct, like "suffering builds character" ? Like, she kills herself every time she gets tortured to death, so the solution should be more torture? No one thought to change tactics if the purpose is to save her life?
I definitely misunderstood this right, right? Or is there some secret code, that she has to get absolutely mind *** for world peace?
What is the excuse this time for domestic violence my korean author, how much coping are we actually talking about?
Why is stockholm syndrome the main plot for 90% of the female centered asian romance novels? Listen, it is a solution, but is it really it for 21th century my gals? We should really re-write that DNA code over friends, we have been given the tools, education, so drop the manhwa and pick up the schoolbooks. I have been advocating in fucking forums for a few years, every time I see the most stupid plots, I come straight to the spoiler plugin and the results are quite atrocious. Whatever, I'll check in with the manhwas in a few months again as well, to see how bad they have gotten, I mean it's devolution, the plot is always the same, but the techniques they use to torture the FL are kind of creative and so are the excuses.
Still this stuff gets promoted, is it because the readers love the victimising oneself and then some mild revenge happens, (obviously due to the man because a man knows how to solve a problem). And really, why are the MLs psychopathic in some way every time.

 

as said in this comment section this has been going over for 15 timelines or 12 and each time ML regresses I think he became more sadistic because him torturing FL or so before she does something that angers him and dies because originally FL tricked him and died he fell in love with her and she died so of course he felt betrayed

not trying to defend or anything just saying hes way too far gone at this point
