A simple Reader with preferences
Things I want in a Novel: A calm, rational mc or atleast a reasonable one who doesn't change character in seconds.
Good world building.
Character development.
well written fight scenes(If it's an action novel)
Interesting plot.
Things I dislike in a novel: Cliché tropes that are overused. For example, I avoid almost all wuxia/xianxia where mc is a trash who gains some cheat then becomes op.
I also dislike whiny mcs who cry after facing consequences of their stupidity. Also all that yaoi stuff(I have nothing against those that read them though, its just not my cup of tea).
I usually prefer evil or anti-hero mcs as they meet the first criteria. In case of 'good' mcs, I only read ones where mc wins or defeats opponents with wits and strength rather than just brute power.
I occasionally read fluff novels with cute kids or cats to relieve stress or when I am extremely bored. I also find non-human mc centered novels interesting and usually read them.
