Same here. Its one of those few translated JP novels that gives you a dark atmosphere kind of vibe and doesn't have those annoying cliches JP novels are infamous of.

there is this novel about a modern day Japan martial arts guy, he was summoned to another world after he talked to some gods that were sorry for him. they gave him special powers and then he killed the death(?) god. Later he killed the king, took part of the treasury, bought two slaves, murdered some hundreds of peoples. At that point I stopped reading. I dont remember the name but hopefully someone else here will tell you.

Yobidasareta Satsurikusha. The beginning is kind of random, but it does get better later on. Also Kuro no Maou. But seriously, I don't understand this myth about beta JP MCs. So far I've read, like, one wn where the MC is beta.

Non-Beta typically they want an Alpha MC (such as the alpha dog of a pack). Alpha characters are typically decisive, take what they want, and don't let anyone question their actions. When it comes to romance, alpha characters are considered carnivores since they will actively go for the girl they like (and quickly try to sleep with them). Examples of these types of characters are the MC are the MCs from "No Game No Life" and "Problem Children are Falling from the Sky". Beta characters are typically dense, not confident with their actions, and want to either not been noticed or keep to the status quo. When it comes to romance, these are the herbivores that are more interested in just looking at their crushes or just be the center of a collection of girls without try to make a move on any of them (since they want to keep the status quo). There are too many examples to list for Japanes Beta MCs but the MC from "To Love Ru", Hachiman from "SNAFU", Aniz from "Overlord", and MC from "Infinite Stratos" are good examples of beta MCs. Beta males MC are common in Japanese LN's since they allow the MC to have a harem without worrying about the MC having a physical relationship with one of them (thus keeping the R-15 or teen rating instead of mature or 18+). These types of harem are commonly called fake or "japanese" type harems and are a major source of why many readers hate to read material with harems (the other reason is the unless side character or forgotten harems that are more common in Chinese novels).
