Hello, I just did some editing on a Google Translation for a novel that was apparently dropped, however when I tried to post it on NU, I found out that I need to be part of a group to post at all! I thought it would be better to join an existing group, if there are any willing to take someone who is just doing things off on their own! I'm not looking for money right now, or even to be tremendously serious, I just picked up this novel and wanted to share my efforts! Please let me know if your group would be interested in taking me! I read and write English as a native speaker, and am very comfortable editing! I can use any social media platform and am happy to help with other edits in my free time if there is need! Thank you!
PhoenixTL is always looking for extra help. Here's the group link. https://phoenixtl.live/recruitment/
...just to clear up any misunderstandings...you don't have to be part of a group. You can make a group. right next to the add release option is add group. Also, NU does not accept raw MTL or poorly edited MTL.
Thank you everyone! I saw that I could make my own group, but I didn't want to make a group of one person when I might be able to join an existing one! The novel is "Transmigration of the Famous Cyber Star". It was dropped in June, had one update this month, and possibly dropped again. Naturally I got invested in the novel and am determined to keep reading it. So, upon finding the raws I thought I would fix GoogleTranslate's work and see if anyone else wanted to read it while I was at it. I'm hopeful that my version doesn't count as poorly edited, but I'm trying not to mess with the spirit of the text too much, just fixing the obvious grammar problems and poor flow! I've joined PhoenixTL, as long as they'll tolerate me!
Are you planning to translate from chapter 1? If not you'll need to wait for another 3 months time. After all, that group is still considered as an active translator.
I didn't realize that, I must not have read the faqs thoroughly enough. Will NU remember my post for that time, or will I need to resubmit in 3 months?
Well that's completely incorrect. By not maintaining a two chapter per month minimum they've already lost active translator status. 3 months was never a NU rule. It's a old guideline from the days of bakatsuki when LN's were the main commodity. Can't stress this enough since weird rabid groups keep pointing at NU rules to crush any competition He is wrong https://www.novelupdates.com/nu-policy/
my bad, but what if that group post one more chapter this month, will that group be considered as an active translator?
Take a look at the link I posted. Yeh they would since they already meet the other two qualifications. But as long as madsky uploads before then, it'll get accepted.
if that group uploads another chapter right after madsky uploaded the new chapter, would madsky's future upload still be accepted?
