oh god why does the anime looks like a bunch of moving pictures?? I like how they want to copy the cruel and gory start of goblin slayer but with those repetitive panels? i wouldn't really complain this much with their so-so animation but then they did it. They didn't even bother to build up the atmosphere before throwing the viewers to their so called "a predator being preyed by a bigger predator" scene. Im not even surprise with the "rocks. png" that moves stiffly when he used his transmute ability yet behold, in the next scene where he was supposed to be hungry and thirsty, trapped alone in a small space that should drive him into despair, he recite how "Holy Stone" was supposed to be this and that and didn't even tried to conserve his saliva or something... I know that he need to explain what it was to the viewers but.. C'mon choose the atmosphere dammit! Then showed some cute girls out of nowhere to appease the viewers, then back again to the pathetic mc who talks to himself, to the party of heroes firing some blue fireworks, pathetically falls off, blame everyone, transformed into the edgiest op protagonist in 5 seconds, pointless revenge with the bear who was shown in only 5 frames and yadadada... Conclusion: Animation:So-so Art:Cute i guess? Story telling : Eh? Manga was a lot better in my opinion...
Yeah, so underwhelming I can't even read the plot as the timelime got messed up badly. Like it doesn't care about the build-up at all. I mean, i can't even get the feeling of hajime being weak with the plot putted like that. I always imagined that 1st episode will end at hajime falling to abyss, but this... Come on!
yep I kinda missed the "suspicious church" part and the proper light hearted isekai to complete despair transition... And they completely messed up Arifureta's strongest point : The prolouge just like the Rising of the Shield hero with its betrayal start..
Believe it or not the episode had a good animation, by this season standards... just look at what they do to Maou-sama Retry!
Arifureta was among the first Web novel that I had read, it have good initial chapters and look promising but turned to be generic isekai harem and end up become like a high speed car that crashed the wall. Just my opinion .
It's too fast... It makes the protagonist looks like a whinny teenager undergoing through "puberty". A newly introduced character spouting "Kill them all" is edgy to me too!
That's my point. A generic isekai harem with only the prologue as its strong point is now wasted with that poorly executed start of the anime...
I think its novel is the best while the manga is also ok with all the art and fight scenes but the novel still feels more graphic and the anime is shit. Period
its an insult to the novel....is it dumbed down like the manga too? arifureta is my all time favorite novel....and i was very happy that volume 9 was released....the webnovel version was full of bullshit translation in these parts....
Anime will always lose against the manga/novel. I haven’t watched the anime yet, but I’m already setting my expectations to be really low. Just gonna cross my fingers for some fan service shots of Yue and not that much censorship.
This made Arifureta look like shit and this supposed to be a marketing strategy for the LN and manga. And here i thought Maou-sama Retry was bad in terms of lazy animation. Arifureta just nose dived as the worst episode 1 ever. Like wtf, why cant they just follow the story rather than making a shit of an episode.
What do you mean timeline is messed up ? Plz spoil me, i don't want to watch the anime. Did it begin by showing MC being already OP? Also speaking of bad anime adaptation try to look Youjo Senki. If you try to search i think there was a comparison meme image of the sidekick girl character between manga and anime. Plz spoil me why the ep1 is crappy, i really like this series (i read only the after stories).
If the first ep is that shit, obviously they're planning to cram in as much as they can while cutting the stuff that helps it all make some sense. That's a trouble with a lot of LN adaptations. They butcher it up then stitch random bits and pieces back together to fit 12-13 episodes. Anime based on LNs either need to own being just a marketing tool by telling enough of the early story to get people interested OR the production committees need to double down and do adaptations as 2 cours done properly and not rushed (like how Heavy Object was adapted for anime)
I like the anime of Youjo Senki more than the manga to be honest, they did good with the direction, specially during tension moments.
At least there are other anime to cater you this season, should you find this anime adaptation mediocre. I, for one, never expected anything from this anime adaptation, because even the web novel rammed itself with the annoying harem and happy-trigger protagonist.
as soon as he meet the bunny girl it went down hill for me. never could get pass 5 chapters after that
