can't update the windows to get Japanese font

so i found this old small laptop in my house storage, probably from around 2009-2010...i was thinking "hey, i can move the light-weight games to this laptop so i can play them even in campus" but the problem is for some reason the windows can't be updated automatically, i dont know, probably because the windows is not registered (aka "cracked")...the point is there is no Japanese font - not the ones we use to type, but the one for the OS - and without it i cant play some of the games...so how do i get the japanese font for the OS? oh the OS is also outdated by the way, it is windows XP

Why WinXP?

Just get a Linux. Some distros nowadays are actually easier to maintain than XP...

Well, not that they don't get their own problems, but still...

 

Some visual novels don't play well under linux.
