... So my brother says my way of scratching the cat's ear is wrong. He just scratches the head around the ear, whereas I just cronch the ear itself. If you're confused about what I mean, find a cat and just grab both sides of the ear before applying pressure on it to get the ear to "pop" a bit. (don't actually pop the ear, just make it snap a bit when you collapse that hollow area inside the ear on itself) I've been scratching cat's ears this way my whole life, but now I must ask: have I been doing it wrong?
you can ask the cat. each cat might prefer different things. maybe what you do is considered wrong according to others, but maybe your cat actually likes how you do it.
if your cat violently scratches you in the face, it is displeased and you are wrong. if it does not, you're probably in the clear. I have never heard of a cat that is willing to accept even the slightest discomfort from their human
... What if you feed them everytime you discomfort them? I now have a cat that loves being roughed up since it knows it'll get a kibble after.
How about simply patting the head and the back? The ears are part of the head as well so they will be touched, therefore no need for scratching or cronching Perhaps just gently scratching under the chin, and watch the cat's reaction
cat are particular in the area where they like to be touched, the best way i found of petting them and having them come for more is the following: scratch their head scracth their chin until they purr go back to the top of the head slid your hand from head to tail, once (very important being only once) draw circle with your finger around its anus insert one finger follow this step and the cat will always come back for more
I can pretty much guarantee you that what you are doing is definitely not causing any pain to it. Which is a good thing, of course.
I don't scratch nor cronch(whatever this is) cat ears, i just strokes it. Also scratching below it's neck and massaging it's body
I know some cats that won't care as long as you don't hurt them, so even playing with them they won't retaliate
I can scratch for 10 minutes but later my eyes itch too much. Probably a allergy because I've been living next to a gas station for a while, gasoline fumes can cause allergies when someone of you lives next to something like that start looking for something new at least a block away for your health.
i didn''t know what cronch mean, so i googled it and i see "urban dictionary: cronch"...........open up the link and now i'm regretting it.....
