Hi everyone, I've read ~40 chapters of STFSP, but I find that it's unusually boring with a lot of fillers. For being a IET's novel, there's no cultivation porn, some combat skills are just names with zero impact, e.g. Misty Rain Sword Intent is a ripoff from DE's Ji Ning's. I also hope Yi Xiao wouldn't end up being the MC's wife, she's bland and acts like a damsel in distress, if not because of MC's power, she could be killed in the current Grand Dominance County arc. I'd like to ask: will STFSP focus more on xianxia aspects in later volumes, such as cultivation methods, dao comprehensions, etc? Thanks!
It is okay throughout his mortal life. It is a good novel in my opinion, overall. It has many interesting insights but yes it is a very similar story to DE
if you like IET you'll like it, it's very typically written of him. If you don't like IET it won't be your cup of tea
It gets progressively worse. If I remember right, Dao comprehension is not touched upon in detail. There's way too much shitty stuff happening to the MC. It's the fastest I hv ever dropped an IET novel. And I (used to) consider myself a big fan of his works.
Well… Spoiler Yi Xiao does become wife and gets help from plot armor to have some lightning powers that will take her to immortality, Qin Yun (I think that was his name) keeps feeding that sword intent and then breaking it down and then feeding it again. There are some trippy moments where he goes to other worlds to train too, in someone else's body. So yeah, it gets more Xianxia like as the chapters go by, it's only the beginning where everything is in the mortal realm and sucks. Then it's just crap regardless. But you're free to read it and make your own assumption.
To me, It's one of IET's more chill(boring In my opinion)books. Not that It's bad, It's just I couldn't get Into It. I still go back and read a couple of chapters here and there but that's about It, not good enough for me to binge It. I'm just waiting for him to finish this book so he can start his next book, I've liked all the books I've read from him so far besides this one so I'm hoping the next book he writes Is better than this.
Is it over? is what i want to ask. IET if you have read CD, ST, DE. ETC, You know what to expect. Personally for me CD was my first novel outside of Japanese literature and then i wont lie it was everything i liked. ST after it was great but then DE was the same and then NC was the same. It all is just rinse and repeat almost carbon copy of the same overall story. For me his works would do a near revolution if he just came to build up other characters more instead of the focus given to the MC perpetually. Forgive me for being blunt, but is that not near the sole criteria to be the wife of the MC in an IET story?
Well… Spoiler: Short Answer bc I don't want to reread the damn series Yes, there are several separation arcs. Women don't play much of a role in IET's works, other than being pretty, fought over, pretty much just romance. If a girl gets into a fight, it's either the beginning of the arc and the MC starts to want her, the girl is barely hanging on and it's a damsel in distress for the MC to hero his way over, or the enemies are super weak sauce (AKA soft tofu) and the girl just fights a scrub
