I know they're talking about how lightning happens but I'm afraid I might use the wrong words so please help.
= Do you know the principle of lightning? ……プラスの電気とマイナスの電気がどうにかなるんでしょ = ...... Plus electricity and minus electricity will manage somehow そう、プラスとマイナスで偏った電気が、その偏りを中和しようとした結果、雷が発生するんだ。あくまで通説だけどね = Yes, electricity biased by plus and minus tries to neutralize that bias, resulting in thunder. Although it is a common thesis to the last GOOGLE IS LOVE
Let's see.... [Do you know how thunder is created?] [...Isn't it because the plus and minus of electricity did something?] [That's right, the plus and minus energy of electricity, they both tried to neutralize each other, which resulted in the birth of thunder. Though that's what I think of it/my theory of it] Or so I think.....
Err...maybe? I have difficulty of interpreting it like I wished to My problem of "I know what it meant but I can't put it into words" thing
"Do you know the principle of how lighting occur?" "....plus(positive) electric charge(electricity) and minus(negative) electric charge(electricity) will do something right?" "That's right(yes), electricity polarized into plus(positive) and minus(negative), the result of neutralizing that polarization, lightning occur. Although in the end it is only the common(-ly believed) theory.
"Do you know the principles behind how lightning is produced?" "....it has something to do with positive and negative charges right..." "That's right, the electricity that is divided into positive and negative charges, gives birth to lightning as a result of trying to neutralize the difference in charges. Though that is just the common opinion on the matter." Last line is translated a bit more liberally so it hopefully makes more sense, but I hope that helps?
