Just upgraded to windows 10. It's been years since I have watched so many dam adds.... Looking at you Microsoft Jigsaw, Killer Sodoku... I wept at the loss of Internet Checkers... I raged that I need to log onto a profile to play FING SOLITAIR? The very point, purpose, value of the game Solitair is degraded by this insult... So... Do anyone know of a good location to download actually good old man games without all the B.S. ? Casino/Puzzle, other games that keep my fingers occupied, and my aging brain active? Been to Cnet/twocows and what they have is lacking. Just old and poorly programmed, or has popups/adds. Its hard to find because there is so much out there, and 90% of it has junk.
Steam has Chip’s Challenge, but it’s available only for PC. I found Jezzball on iPhone, but the reviews are really bad. I know there’s two websites that host old games, but I can’t remember them at the moment... I found this just by googling: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/4-sites-where-you-can-download-old-pc-games-for-free-nb/. I’ll ask my hubby what site he uses when he wakes up.
Do you want that you can use it offline? Because there are many good online games. I recommend that you search for PopCap games., like Plants vs. Zombies. etc.
Yah offline, the simplest games. Better yet if the window can resize, so you can play the game while watching youtube at the same time. Surprizingly hard to find.
Brain games are a bit lacking. Just having fun with my persona. Not happy with Windows 10 games, they took the best ones away, and made things complicated with adds, and want to download a few replacements.
I heard the linux distro (os) Sparky Linux Gameover Edition, has many open source games pre-installed, and i believe many of them are oldschool and simple games, i never tried it though, so no guarantee
I would actually suggest Banished. Whether you download it pirated or buy it through Steam or somewhere else is a minor detail. Your main problems there are keeping your people fed, warm & happy, and preparing for any eventual generation shifts when the old people die off and you're suddenly lacking workers (how exactly a 70-80 yo is just as effective as a 19 yo is another thing, but hey). There's a variety of similar games, but many of them include actual fighting of some sorts. This doesn't, unless you mean against the elements (they'll die of cold, starvation, old age, accidents, diseases and natural disasters, but you can turn off the disasters)
