So I started watching Naruto today got as far as episode 21, right at the start of the Chunnin Exams arc. It was like one minute I was there just bored out of my mind and then suddenly I had this desire to watch some old animes that I used to like. Anyways it was nostalgic as hell and it really put me in a mood to remember all those good times before I got into web novels and actual reading and was still feeding my addiction with manga and animes, anyone knows what I'm talking about? At any rate when you guys think of stuff from that phase, by which I mean a time before you read web novels since I assume most people like myself made the jump to WN's after going thought the anime/manga phase, what do you think is most memorable from those times? You can mention any anime or mangas you want just so long as they really make you feel nostalgic, please share I want to share the remembrance with you all.
shaman king, dragon drive, kiba, fullmetal alchemist were the ones that started me with anime, i still love them, those are awesome. Naruto, bleach, and those "popular" new anime were the ones that ended it. Sad times, i dont watch anime anymore, beside Gintama. Gintama was and still is my absolute fav, i dont even remember how many time i rewatch the entire series
Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, Digimon, Naruto... I mean, everything started with them. If it wasn't became of such animes maybe I wouldn't be right here right now. However, honestly, I don't know if I should be grateful toward such a thing or not...
Reminded of my ultimate nerd days, first with pokemon, yugioh, and all the game cards. Then anime like Rurouni Kenshin, one piece, naruto, also especially death note, which was like equivalent of coiling dragon, got me and a lot of my friends really into anime. And manga oh man. I think i have read every manga possible or have tried reading most. Too many to count.
The clearest I remember was watching trashy anime and some mangas during those times. I guess the most memorable were the time I was finishing the Naruto manga and reading Douluo Dalu manga which is how I got into the novel community. Besides those, I was a pretty chunni, shounen-fanboy who was really solitary. Edit: Pretty much every shounen or kid shows out there like Pokemon and Yugioh really got me into anime (though I didn't really knew they were anime and "first" anime I watched was naruto)
One Piece started it all for me and I only came across it when the first episode aired on Adult Swim (an after dark section for adults on a cartoon channel). If not for that I would not have known about anime/manga until may years later.
For me, my interest with anime and manga culture started with watching Magic Knight Rayearth when I was... 6-8 yo? I forgot. My older sister liked to borrowed manga from comic rental, so on weekend we tend to pull an all nighter (because she often borrowed 10-20 manga at once) and we only had two days (Saturday and Sunday) to finish all of them. Now the said comic rental has closed, I still feel regret for not buying some of my favourite manga from there... my Platinum Garden....
yep i loved that anime, still do. U cant find those kind of anime any more, all the current sht is about those "fan service" "moe" and over hype crap
I started read WN because i read the manga version of Coiling dragon and Mad god, and TDG, but the release just at slow pace. Soon after i know that its originally from WN. Then until now i just addicted to WN. Lol
Goddamn i have those times too where i get all nostalgic remembering how i couldn't wait for the next episodes of inuyasha, rurouni kenshin, dragon Ball, yu yu hakuso, saint seya, naruto, though not on the same level as the others samurai champloo, maaann now i wanna rewatch those. EDIT: I would like to add to my list pokemon and yu gi oh though i watched some episodes of Digimon pokemon was more to my linking , oh and medabots too... Sigh i was already going to sleep now i will think of the past and get all giddy.
