I am more than happy to grace everyone with my presence here in this non-basic thread full of non-scumbags...
I did this a long time ago, but I think it was in the range of 4 to 7 hours. Not sure if this is too slow or the norm for others. A more efficient and skilled editor could probably trim it down to just 2 hours, maybe. I had to throw away a few of my first attempts (copying from similar looking scenes elsewhere in the series, mirroring the other side of the image, font effects, etc.). The color gradients and transparencies complicate things a lot compared to black and white manga. They (usually) look nice in webcomics, but they are the bane of my existence as an editor. In hindsight, I should have just spent max an hour and slapped on a bigger font size and a thicker, more opaque font outline (stroke). Maybe even changed the text orientation to horizontal at 90°. It was such a dramatic scene that I didn't want to leave it unedited. Also, once you start working on it, it's hard to give up halfway.
