Hi, what is the slang for f**kers who increase their level by hiring people to help or through cheats (like hacking) and items? I am referring to either real life example, the slang, or ones used in novels like the one used in Sword Tensei. Google sensei is not helpful in this case. Taking an example of SAO *spit*, they call beta testers as Beaters, as in Beta tester and cheater.
Power leveling? Bus? FYI beta tester does not keep their level or item when game launch officially they simply have more information on the game than normal player
Yeah, I don't think we have a specific proper noun to refer to them. We do have various verbs that describe them doing the act that we can refer to them by. I'm sure you could mangle the verbs into various proper nouns for personal use, but there aren't many people using that term so you'd be a linguistic trailblazer in that sense.
A streamer I watch constantly gets teased by her chat about being "boosted". That's proly the best terminology for what you're describing. "you so boosted" "to push or shove up from below "
...great, I was hoping for something like clankers or luggage. Dammit, now I have to attack the person from another angle.
Twinks = low level players with high end equipments I think "whales" apply to players who buy a lot of cash items...
Too political Too broad I though the first is called overgeared? But then Grid came along and screw the slang "Whales", can do. Thanks.
I think that was actually a mistranslation because let us be honest, who sees playing a game in Beta as "cheating"? If that was true, then almost every current game release has "cheating" players since it's common to release game betas for community testing. Boosting or carrying is the action where people rely on others to level, it's less of an insult but an action and I think you're actually looking for an insult. If you're looking for insults, then it's whales (people that buy items with cash that gives them an advantage) or noobs (clueless idiots) or twinks (high level but clueless player). Overgeared isn't an action, it's a condition. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2018-12-10-boosting-now-a-criminal-offence-in-south-korea I know the Chinese have a term for it, a "milk baby" but that isn't totally an insult too since classes like Healers can be useful "milk babies" and it's a specific description of someone being carried and not having someone else playing his account.
Pay 2 win player is the most insulting (implies lack of skill) but also implies they are doing it the legit/legal in-game way (without cheats). We need a word for this
We used to call whales wallet warriors. Back in the day during the golden era of intra player micro transaction we sarcastically called them investors.
Boosted, or hackers... I guess you have heavy feelings about those kinds of people, judging by your title.
