There has been quite a criticism for this series that it's a copy of Martial World. Well, Martial World wasn't original to begin with so no question of plagiarism.

Chinese web fiction is basically a collection of time tested cliches but it's not really a bad thing if it's done well.

Well it's not only the "cheat item", the basic intoduction story is very similar, trash found a cheat, cultivating an OP technique, has a similar side job (LM is an engraver, LX is an enchanter), meeting the heroine when buying enchanter/engraver item. Even the sect test is almost similar. and there also a bet between elders...
The only different I see is LM got ditch by his childhood lover while Lu Xuan got triangle love situation early on

 

Also the MC in SS actually got his cousin/ friend person into the sect through the pills he gave. Unlike the relative in MW who was a lazy pollock.

I can't help but hope the other genius introduced in the sword faction becomes a friend/rival and not an enemy/rival as the latter one is overused. It'd be nice for a change is all lol

 

That other guy became a friend/rival (the girls cousin), this one might go to the enemy/rival side. Or maybe just a rival who is neither a friend nor enemy

 

Okay he's enlightening his understanding of sword intent which is good but a whole chapter of just standing there is boring. Would've loved it if at the end, instead of someone coming out the MC's scored jumped up by a good amount

 

Again nothing. Is the writer trying to build up the anticipation.....I feel it'll be disappointing in the end.

 

Finally he's killed off the seventh level ones. Proper action after all the wait. Will he finish off an eighth level one? I'm thinking it'll be like that first test he had before arriving at the sect. He'll rush in, use his most powerful move and kill at least one before leaving. Or will he give up cos they will be really strong compared to him

 

Jumped to 298th in the overall ranking. Now once he gets all the rewards and resources his strength will go up significantly. What position will he get within a year I wonder~
