She was raised by Bell and never being properly cared for. She sleeps standing up, probably from her training days with Bell. She is just trying to re-live and make up for all her lost youth, On the other hand, Bell promise to spare Hajin one time looks like a good flag to me.
Calling it now. Hajin will probably ask Bell to spare someone else's life in exchange for not sparing his during the Tower arc. Yeah, looking at you Nayun.
Nah I only care to imagine beautiful girls with beautiful voices... It's a policy for using my imagination...^^
Rachel always seems weak and naive whenever she shows up... What was her author-assigned potential again?
I feel like having Rachel and Boss in the same room would result in one of the most awkward conversations ever.
Hajin's rating of Rachel is 9-9.5 in potential, but we don't know if that's accurate after the co-author's interference. My impression is she's a very close to Nayun in potential/max power but is better at independent survival and guerilla tactics (due to not having a strong group of companions). Based on author bias, Rachel is probably will probably be a little behind Nayun in the end. Rachel's problem here is that she has to shoulder the responsibility for her companions. She's not doing that badly considering she has to worry about two unconscious people and seems to have spent more time exploring rather than grinding crafting skills, tbh. It's just that Hajin knows almost exactly how to handle the Tower and she doesn't.
Yeah, but she's supposed to be a leader, an elementalist and an end-game heroine. I can't imagine Yeonha, Nayun or Suho ever being in this situation, no matter how harsh the environment and how debuffed their stats are. Yeonha would have played it smart strategically as well as economically, Nayun would overcome the consequences of any mistakes she made with her trademark retard strength, and Suho would be awesome at everything. I dunno, maybe it's because she's been called a princess, but she always gives me a 'damsel in distress' vibe. Maybe she just hasn't bloomed yet and could eventually summon some sort of ancient elemental or something, but I doubt she'll ever kill anything actually threatening with that dinky rapier of hers she still relies on, and she probably can't lead a top-tier guild or company either. ...I was waiting for someone else to say it.
Hajin has rescued Yeonha and Nayun several times, though, including from situations where they were unable to fight back. I agree Yeonha is a better leader than Rachel and Rachel often comes off as a damsel, but to be fair about it, Rachel is the only character who has a ranking Djinn actively gunning for her and Hajin has been very opportunist about swooping in to help her. I feel like Rachel comes off as more damsel-y than she is because she's rarely in a position to help Hajin out or be a real friend to him. Hajin also doesn't get much of a chance to observe her using her full potential... her power level is mostly just mentioned in snippets when comparing Cube rankings and whatnot. Yeonha has been in several vulnerable situations, but she has also helped Hajin several times over. Nayun hasn't really helped Hajin but she was really active about trying to be a part of his life when she realized he wasn't the kind of guy she originally thought he was. TBH, Yeonha is the only female character who feels like she pulls her own weight and a lot of that is because she's helpful in a non-combat way. It's not just Rachel... Boss' apparent power rating really seems like it's been reduced a lot by this arc, too, partially because the Tower has sealed their stats. Nayun is partnered with Jonghak and will probably meet up with other Essence of the Strait members, so they shouldn't end up too badly, but I'd put money on Hajin having to save her at some point, too.
Nayun: My grandfather ordered your partens murder. Yeohna: My father led the team that was sent to murder your parents. Boss: I killed your parents. Rachel: GG. Easy.
