So... I dropped The Alchemist God who knows how long ago. Mainly because the updates are so infrequent and the story became (imho) a wee bit boring. So without spoiling anything tell whether I should pick it back up or not.
Read it to chapter 50 and then be reminded in a month when another release comes and it shows back up. Or, forget about it for a year and read 10+ chapters all at once. It's a decent story. Better than a number of other ones that are more frequent in releases.
That a good novel, indeed. if he is just being lazy instead of having RL complications, he should just let somone else pick it up. Procrastination is a sin for everyone but me.
the sentences seem broken and awkward in GT. you could understand it a bit but i think its all about the flow. i wouldnt want to have to constantly stop to figure out what im reading. people just dont want to take the time to do that. Well, that my take on it. it does work fine for some but the meaning of the words could seriousy be butchered in GT. Well, maybe im being to judgemental. . . Sigh, should i try GT again? i've done more ridiculous things, after all.
What I've found is that GT works for some novels and it flows pretty nicely, and others you basically have to give up. Once you get used to reading that kind of format though, your brain gets used to auto correcting it =P I completely finished Wu Dong Qian Kun, God and Devil World, Child of Light, and Kind Death God using it. =) It also helps to use a raw site that formats the chapters into paragraphs instead of walls of text.
The ideal site if you are willing to subscribe is qidian as it comes in paragraph form and doesn't mix up chapters or cut out some of the chapter. If you want something free but less optimal, I would suggest the three sites: tw.fxnzw.com tw.zhsxs.com tw.hjwzw.com However, there are some novels listed on these sites that have their chapters totally mixed up and some of the chapters have a certain amount of writing cut off at the end (why? I have no clue =/ ). If every chapter of a novel has something cut off of each chapter, I usually drop it fairly quickly... The fix for this is sadly to either go to a raw site that has a wall of text, as they weirdly enough usually have all of the text for the chapter. If you don't mind walls of text, they are definitely preferred over the 3 sites I listed above. An example would be: http://www.piaotian.net/ or something like that. It's certainly not the best, but if you really want to read a novel, it's not that bad.
As for the novels, I listed 4 in a previous post above which were pretty decent on GT if you are interested. I've also read more than 2k chapters of Sovereign of the Three Realms with GT ^^
