As I was mulling over the Musk-Twitter fiasco (in my defence, I was quite bored), it suddenly struck me that as Twitter is spelt with a single 'i' instead of double 'e's and as its regular users are known also as 'Twitterati', shouldn't 'tweets', by the same logic and for greater consistency, be 'twits'? The change would also be more in line with its philosophy, methinks.
let say english have plenty of exception so that is that~ there poem about the ridiculous exception on english language~
Twitter literally means bird call. Tweet is simply how a bird sound or chirp is usually writter. Would be ridiculous to call it twits too hahhaha
if we use 'twits', more people would scorn the twttr users with .... try putting an 'a' instead of an 'i' on that word
"I am twitting." That's sounds childish, however, I couldn't be certain whether it's because it is or because 'tweet is the correct word' has been so embedded in my brain.
To be fair, the best way to use that service is to throw out something inflammatory then ignore the replies. It's like casting bait and catching fish too mentally touched to realize that you're not serious.
