... an rpg game where in order to activate a spell you need to write or speak the word/s in a pre-selected alternate language?
bought a game on steam like that here I was just hoping to run around screaming lighting bolt at the top of my lungs. I want to scream in English it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside I'll settle for singing I like to sing.
Well the idea behind it is that games don't need to be pointless entertainment. I can see there would be obvious issues with it but I could probably work around that to some degree or another. The added difficulty/annoyance would also allow for the magic in the game to be more powerful than it traditionally is in such games.
I wish this game exist. Then i will have valid reason to scream magic spells and people won't call me chuuni no more!
Well I do like the idea that faster speed =fast fast and More articulate =More power essentially right ?
I can't remember as it was years ago, but I recall playing a game where every action you do you needed to type and it's not what you do that you type. (As in, if you want to read, you don't type read. I forgot what you type though...) It was meant to be a game that helps people get use to typing, typing faster or learning English.
That could be a part of it. The other part is rather than just tackle one front (writing or speaking) tackle both by using different means. Allow the person to attempt writing the word/spell and 'memorize' it to essentially charge instant casts that can be used later but are much weaker. Then there would be spoken spells that are longer/harder to pull off but also much more devastating/useful.
